YOU wrote THIS

"I'm sorry but PA is not part of the future to me. Yes he's put up points, but the isles cornerstone is a finesse player (JT). To me the isles have too much finesse and not enough grit. Look at every successful team in this league. They all have sandpaper. Matt Martin is only one player."

NOTHING in that statement was about contracts.... Before he had no future with the team because JT is a finesse player & god forbid the team has more then 1. NOW he has no future with the team because of contracts...???

Yeah, Hows that working out for Nino? And three of the four guys you named were either waiver pick ups or free agent signings not draft picks.

Fransy and KO were drafted by the isles

Have a conversation with the guy and you would be happy to know that's not the case. I'm sure it's part of it but the guy wants to win and he cares as much as we would hope all the players do. He wants to win and that is his motivation.

Anyone that wanted nabby to be traded, ask yourself and answer me this. How in gods name are they making the playoffs without him?

Edit: without him next season

Yawn........when you go on vacation with PA, and he's calling you on the phone to shoot the sh!t then maybe i will believe what he says. Until then, dont kid yourself. Its all about one thing. CASH IS KING

Cash strapped? Regardless of their cash situation, the isles find themselves a mile under the cap floor, they have to spend that cash regardless. I'd rather have parenteau then 3 washed up vets taking playing time away from kids like cizikas, rkhshani, etc...

your last sentence has nothing to do with my point.

Round a bout it does. If they traded him, who do they get to eat up that salary to get to floor?

Isles will make the playoffs next year with nabby. Defense will be better.

No I don't regarding p.a. But i thought he was being genuine. It wasnt just a 30 second conversation.

No need to be condescending . I believed him. You could tell by how and what said that he wants to be part of turning the isle around. Anyone would be motivated by cash. But it's not his end all.

So trade Nabokov. Who is goalie? Dp and Poulin.. 5th place hands down. At least with nabby we have half a shot.

I've met him, in fact humg with him for a few hours and he said he liked it here. That in no way means that he will not sign with another team and I think you're reaching if you think thats the case. If him and his agent get blown away by a team that has their shat together you can bet your ass he's outta here and honestly he'd be stupid not too.

I hear you. This is all high risk for no return. I've read the same stuff you have but I have a hard time believing he's going to resign. Why would he? Really think about that.

From newsday during the 06-07 season.....

"I'd like to stay," Blake said. Referring to Islanders owner Charles Wang, he added, "I like Mr. Wang, and I think it's a good organization with a good bunch of guys. But there are 29

- kindlyrick[other] teams. I'll test the market and see what's out there for me and who wants me."

What do you know, he liked it here, but he left...........just like PA is going to do. Snow pooped the bed on this one. He's gonna try and sign PA for "fair market value", and PA is going to try and get his career contract come july 1st.

He also openly admitted to the fact that he was going to test the market. PA never once said he wants to see "who wants him" and "whats out there for him". All PA said was that he didn't want to talk contract during the season. I'll admit there's not much of a difference. But one way gets spun that the player wants to test the waters with other teams, while one way seems like the player just wants to drive his price up to market value.

If Snow doesn't pay that's a different conversation. I don't think any of us thought Blake was going to re-sign here.

No I agree. My main point was that the other post said he was driven only by money. I disagree after meeting him. He genuinely wants to stay here but that doesn't mean he won't take a better offer. I get that. I just think the isles will get every chance to sign him.

Where would he get this much plying time? That to me is the reason.

eh, if a team would pay him handsomely, hed get his ice time....plus, given the circumstances, id bet A LOT of players would take more money over more ice time....one hint: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTUeHFSEiPE

Good to see him finally get one. He's been playing well, but pulling a Hilbert when it comes time to finish.

What are his options? Tampa? Maybe chicago but not sure where the cap space would come from for him though...

Grabner looks good too. Defense doing good job at not giving up great chances. First line and fourth line need to be better

Reasoner might seriously want to try bribing a goalie for a goal.
