Only way Canucks win this deal is if Canucks win the cup this year. Interesting series of trades. Don't know enough about this Kassian kid, but Hodgson was looking like a solid pick. Wish he could have been a Canuck longer. Time will tell, but Cody certainly has a bright future ahead of him - kent
Maybe Kassian will do you guys good in the playoffs? Who knows man he could be your saviour for your playoff run over hodgson |

it was to keep Bryz happy, Philly didn't know what else to do so they bulked up with Pavel |

Colorado while their moves were not big has probably won both of their trades.
Downie's last 5 games...
5GP / 3G / 4A / --- 7PTS +6 (5 points in 3 games w/ COL & +5)
Galiardi was scheduled to be a healthy scratch.. Winnik has not scored since December.. Tough guys to lose but two great prospects and a big Power forward that by all accounts is on the rise in McGinn.
Yeah we won those.. |

Huge winners in my book. Hodgson is going to be a very good top six player and a 3rd line center for a 1st rounder? Good checking center who can kill penalties and great in the circles, but first for someone who provides no offense and is a ufa? |

I remember when Holland got "fleeced" by Philly when they got Leino and when Holland looked like an idiot for moving "Matthias"...
probably wise to give it more time than a week to talk about winning trades... I will probably still grab Downie if he is available in any hockey pools though.
the real winner will be the team that wins the cup a) this year and b) has continued success as a top team for years to come. If that view is too "wide range" for you... than we are watching this sport in difference realities... |

I think this summer is going to be the change factor in who Burke gets to make a good run in the playoff for next year.
This consists of acquiring a number one centerman- Stasny
Acquiring a long term goalie- Bernier or Schneider
Looking at the big fishes if Parise is available and not resigned or Nash |

The Islanders! They kept 2 players they desperately need, Parenteau and Nabokov. They dealt away 3 very old and very unproductive players, Staios, Mottau, and Rolston. They added 2 young players to restock the AHL team while they parted with the older stiffs. No, not exciting but necessary for our team. |

He sucks at signing free agents, he's spent over 60mil on FA signings in his 4 years here. We were at the cap max to start the season 64mil on this current bag of pi$$ team and all he can say is "I'm happy with our group"

Situations getting pretty desperate up their in hockey mecca of Toronto. Burke seems like a real frustrated guy in his presser. Burke guaranteed a playoff spot for Leafs. I think Buffalo will have something to say about that. They have been the hottest of all the teams in the hunt for the 8th spot |

Rangers are winners with a big assist from Howson. That offer will never be duplicated now that Nash has been thrown under the bus by his GM saying he demanded a trade. |
