Well well well.

I like the fact the prospects are still intact.

I don't like how Kessel is still the one that is heavily leaned on (as he is not the type of player to carry a team when games get meaningful)

I do not like how Hodgson was available, even though I'm not sure we had what Vancouver wanted.

I think this team will play better knowing the hammer isn't dangling above their heads.

Howson refused to name the price for Nash. Probably means he's looking at dropping the price on him now.

Or he is showing integrity by not hurting the morale of the players the other teams offered.

They'll come 10th, just outta playoffs, crap pick and our prospects will not develop into superstars.

When's the draft? maybe we can get a #1 forward, #2 Defense and #1 goalie then.

wait maybe not a #2 defensemen.... we have Phaneuf.
Gardiner cannot softie slumpy.

i don't think he had any intentions of trading nash at the deadline. rumours that the price just continued to go up. the rangers made a "mammoth offer" in the last hour, and were declined.

he seems to have some animosity with nash for sure. not a great way to leak it to the media, when he can't go anywhere now. he seems to be fairly bitter about the list of teams, wasn't it howson who gave him the NMC?

don't understand how howson has a job. he seemed to Richard this entire situation around, and then tell the media that he's staying here as their captain, then flip him under the bus in the same sentence.

Wouldn't need to name names. Just say prospects, picks, top-6 forwards, etc.

Fine... But Grabo >>>> TC

At least he brings passion and heart to every game, give the man some consistent wingers and not a rotating door of inconsistent play... (I mean he had to play with Joey Crabb for a while while Macarthur did nothing)

Look no further than last season when Kulemin actually cared and Mac played with some consistency.

- ejeezy

And nobody other than Mrs. Connolly would dispute that. Grabo's better then Gomez too ....but if Grabo's agent brought that contract up I'd have to believe BB would smother him with gravy and eat him right there on the spot.

Vancouver was looking for the same thing we were. Size and meanness in the top-6.

Yup. But when asked again now, he refused to comment. Backing off his stance.

Where would Kadri, Ashton and Colborne fit as a prospect? A, B?
McKegg, Ross, Biggs? A, B?

I find Grabo pretty inconsistent too. So who's the glue there... Grabo, Kuli or Mac?

Gardiner and Colborne I would say are A prospects

Kadri is slipping. Combined wiht his play (although has been great in spurts) and twitter comments, it's obvious he is not an A prospect. B+ maybe?

Would I have given up Gardiner after trading Aulie? I don't think so.

Stay the course. The Leafs have been in a playoff spot for 80% of the year.

It might be wishful thinking, but I am not going to be a sensationalist. I think this team has playoff ability.

Why is Ashton in group B?

He's produced more as a rookie this year in the AHL than Kadri did.

3 points out, 2 games in hand, huge weight off the young guys' shoulders, with the deadline behind them.

He's played 20 more games. Kadri's been getting Richarded around. Up and down, up and down.

I want us to get in but we dont have the skill in our top six yet until our prospects develop, were still a young team we have to wait on a lot of prospects but we will be good eventually, only thing we might not have in the system is a top line center. Draft Tommy Wilson and wait for all of our grit to come up through the system, in 3 years we will be a gritty team. Not this off season but the one after we get a lot of players off the books. We will have to resign Lupul but we should still have enough money to afford a 1a center. Or we could trade the Mac Grabo Kuli line when our prospects develop, we will see how it goes but i love our prospects we just need them to develop quicker, which isnt going to happen. When Reimer Schenn and Gardiner hit there prime we will be a playoff team, when Kadri Biggs Ashton and Colborne are starting to hit there stride we will be a playoff contender. That is if all those prospects develop properly.

I think Guatavsson steps back up, now that he knows he's staying, and works on his UFA value.
