I know who Carter is.....just haven't been impressed with him.
But now that he's a Leaf...I can see him getting pumped like he's some great prospect.
Story never changes with this nation.
I see Burke has once again overvalued this team and its players......so sad.
When they finish 10th again, I wont be disappointed if Burke is moved out.
Time to get Nonis in here. - Fakepartofme
it wasn't about burke valuing anything. it was about not wanting to buy into a market that had paul gaustad worth a 1st round draft pick. can't hate him for not making a bunch of panic moves. |

Kipper was in the AHL as late as age 26. Wasn't a full fledged starter in the NHL until age 28. - Leeman4Gilmour

goaltenders seem to be hitting their peak post lockout a lot differently than pre. i mean, the same logic could've been applied to justin pogge. he's still only what, 26? |

Yeah I'd start Gus tomorrow night. Knowing Gus (eventhough I dont' know him) he was probably wiggin about the deadline. - HipHopisDead

I agree with not making panic moves for sure.
But to still sell that fact that he thinks this team is and ever was a playoff team....just seems void of logic. |

I have to think the new CBA uncertainty effected the deadline a bit too. Winnepeg, Washington and the Leafs battling for the last playoff spot and between them they do virtually nothing. Actually 'Peg dealt a dman away for picks. |

Really? The way players develop suddenly changed in the past 6-7 years?
Now you're just reaching.
Besides, for the purposes of this debate, how is anybody supposed to use evidence that shows goalies develop late if you exclude anyone since the lock-out?
Anyone drafted since the lock-out is not yet 26 years old. Basically, you've just decided to invalidate any evidence that could be used against your argument. |

don't really get how allaire is catching all the heat for this.
scrivens is barely an AHL goalie. blame you're GM.. he's the one who adamantly wanted to run the season with 2 goalies that had a combined like 80 career starts. - joel878
How is he barely an AHL goalie? I think he has alot of upside. |

agreed. trying to convince the fanbase that things are fine, because the team "dominated" for stretches, no need.
refusing to fire the coach, and opening his mouth, is starting to have me sour on burke a bit. |

Kathryn Humphreys @citymisskitty
Biggest trade of the day. Hugh gave me half his grilled turkey sandwich for a 3 second look at my right boob (the smaller one). I win!

41 career starts above the ECHL make him barely an AHL goalie... |

before the lockout, it was almost expected that a goaltender wasn't NHL ready until he was about 28. the kippers, marty turcos, thomas's..
post lockout, it's alot more common for the carey price, pavelec, fleury, types.. to be more than nhl ready before 25. while guys like justin pogge are being cast off as busts by age 23.
understand? |

Makes you wonder what Grabo would have fetched?
Sorry I don't want a 50 point 5 million a year centre unless he's the best in the league at either, defense or hitting the crap out of the opponents. |

Im still not understanding why Aulie is getting such a free pass over Schenn?
Why is everyone so convinced that Schenn is a dud and Aulie is the next big thing? Schenn is having a bad year, but give him time for (frank) sakes.
Im sad to see Aulie go, and Im not sure what we have in Carter outside of the WJ's.
