We trade Kassian and due to the schedule we get to play against him in less than a week. Ha ha.

think about this... if Hodgson is a damn good player then why did they trade him for kassian/Grags both of whom we know haven't really shown us ANYTHING big YET!?
- JVince117

because he's a center that was stuck behind Kesler and Sedin who aren't going anywhere anytime soon. This is a good deal for both teams.

Both Hodgson and Sulzer made more than Grags and Kassian.

I guess with Gaustad going out it made it possible.

Put Hecht on LTIR

and waive Boyes already. jeez.

Sulzer is actually smaller than Gags.

6'1 instead of grags 6'2

But Sulzer weights 3 lbs more.

Sulzer has been Van's scratch player just like Grags has been for us.

- JVince117

I don't think of him as being that size because he doesn't play big I guess.

So how do you rate Darcy's deadline day now?

And serious question #2 was Goose necessary to make room under the cap? I have no idea what Hodgson makes.

Correct me if I'm wrong but won't Hodgson just be on our 3rd line as well as he was in Vancouver?

Had to waive him by Friday to save his cap hit for this season.

Grags was at 500k... Selzer is at 700k

Hodgson makes 1.66m and kassian made 870k

I'd like to see what he can do with Vanek and Pominville.

He should be in the top two lines. He's a better center than Ennis.

He'll be in the top six, him or Ennis will be on a wing.

IMO no.

Put him between Vanek and Pommer, see what happens.

I don't believe our top 2 centers are better that Sedin and Kessler so I'd say #1 or #2

For what it's worth, Lebrun from ESPN says:

"Sabres did well long term, Hodgson going to be a real good player. Canucks gain short term"

Hodgson has 16 goals this year as a 21 year old playing 3rd line minutes, now he gets to try out 2nd line duties... not sure I agree with Lebrun on this one. TSNs analysis is based on watching Kass play outside the NHL, I can tell that much.

Kassian in the future could be a tough rugged winger a lot like Lucic and Bertuzzi are.

We just got another 6 foot nothing center at 185 to get pushed around just like Roy does.
