He's much better than Rinaldo, but trading JVR for him doesn't make much sense.

The other issue is, that'd leave the Flyers with a hole on defense. So unless there's a second deal where JvR or something goes for a top four defenseman, it's kind of a step back.

I get the whole idea of get an asset for Carle while he's under contract. But if a 2010 scenario occurs again, I don;t want to be short a defenseman

Exactly. It makes sense to wanna get something out of Carle instead of letting him walk come summer (not sure thats the case assuming Pronger is donezo). But getting a top pick and a middling prospect is not worth further depleting the defense. If you could package JvR and Carle it might be worth it...

I agree. If Carle moves, it'll likely be to a team like Vancouver, with Ballard out.

If the flyers were to trade JVR for Subban I am taking my ball and going home. I want no parts of that head case. Talented? Yes, but I don't trust him.

i don't think people do. i sure don't. just seems as though a lot of teams inquire with the flyers regarding his availability, so the pundits bring up his name.

edit: there probably are some people who want to get rid of him because they are retarded, but thankfully they don't run the hockey club.
