I think that its all riding on every single player. I hate pointing the finger at one guy.. yes Bryz has been good this year.. but neither has the team defense. Giroux continues to force passes and make stupid plays.. it continues to give the other team prime scoring chances. Yes it would be nice for Bryz or Bob to make a save on those from time to time and to stop letting in softees, but the team in general needs to play better top to bottom.

Giving up 4 goals on 17 shots to the Calgary Flames is not going to get it done in the playoffs. The offense is constantly bailing Bryz out. I would like to see Bryz bail the offense out for once. Without 3 scoring lines our squad would be in serious trouble right now.
I'm tired of this "Maybe this will get Bryz going" or "Maybe this win will give Bryz the confidence he needs" to get "Bryz going" It's looking like Bryz isn't going to get any better than what he is right now and that scares the poop out of me. He is way too far back in the net, he doesn't take away any of the shooting angles. It's going to be a repeat of last year if he can't get his poop together real soon.. unless BOB can be our savior.

Speaking in terms of recent trades (not just deadline day), in the Atlantic, aside from the additions of Kubina and Grossman in Philly and Zdlicky in NJ it was all pretty much status quo. Pens stood pat. Probably waiting for Crosby to get back sometime in the next month. NYR added Scott. Meh. Whatever. I don't see him being a major factor in the playoffs. Isles were sellers. Philly probably improved the most with their additions on D and Zdlicky will help the Devs a bit. Did I miss any?

Would've liked Gaustad to fill out PK and faceoffs but not at that asking px.

Very happy that Homer patched some holes on D prior to the deadline and did not overpay.

This is a good young team, that has some flexibility to make some changes in the offseason if need be.

Go Flyers!

Calgary GM Feaster with 5 mins of spin doctoring on TSN. Holy poop, this guy is full of it.

"We worked our plan today" They are out of the playoffs and did nothing to improve their team. That's working the plan?

If I was there I would have asked him why he traded a draft pick for Pierre Luc Letorneau Leblond could play 3 games. Majority of the media doesn't have guts enough to ask those type of questions.

I wised they acquired another checking forward to help with pk and faceoffs. I think it's gonna hurt them down the road. However Kubina and Grossman will prove to be the best midseason acquisitions. Those two add another set of dynamics to this team. A small adjustment period is still needed but by mid March I think the flyers will be considered the team to beat. Bryz will feel more comfortable now with a fully stocked Blueline, no more cheating to cut off those cross ice passes and despite my criticism of Reese, i think he gets Bryz to tighten that gaping fivehole. So yea it revolves around Bryz but he's been good more than he's been bad this year. Yes he's bailed them out at times and yes he has shown his potential. Now he needs to be more consistently good and the team needs to help him out a little by not making total brainfarts with the puck in their own zone which is uncharacteristic of a Cup team.

agreed...the part about the team to beat, not so much. we are a work in progress with so much reliance on youth.

and Blair jones, ex of TB, mentioned in most conversations about their future, as a guy to build around...as good as kassian and Hodgkin, I'm sure.
