PA I trust and its his right to wait until the end of the season to negotiate. He's greatful to the Isles for giving him a chance to prove himself but this is the biggest deal of his career and he's going to get the max he can. He'll probably go past July 1st simply to see some offers and give the Isles a chance to match what's coming in.
Nabby on the other hand, completely dumbfounded. Not sure what to expect here. I just don't know why he's so amped about staying now when he didn't even want to report to this team when he was claimed. Something going on here, and his agent Don Meehan is like a cheerleader on the web. - Mr.Black
Maybe he does like it here. Why not? Near city and has his peace away from rink. |

Once the crazy offers start coming in, he's gone. Watch how quickly the words go from "I really want to stay" to "I'm looking forward to helping - UIF[new team] succeed."
You got that right... |

I agree PA will forget the loyalty real quick. Does anyone have faith in the Isles during FA season? Isles taking a real chance with losing PA and Nabby for nothing. |

Snow and Parenteau must have some kind of verbal agreement in place that PA will remain an Islander. This conversation has obviously happened because had it not PA would be getting shopped. A GM cannot simply take a chance like this, they must have some groundwork laid and a mutual trust between the two parties. |

Exactly let us in on the secret. What are we building with an Owner who will not say boo about his lousy team and demands nothing and a GM afraid to trade and a coach who never changes lines and plays Pandolfo and Reasoner down by 2? |

We'll see, but words are words. That's why they have written agreements |

Yes but if they are both resigned, it's huge. No way they are replaced by any free agents. |

Snow is clueless...I can see either both awalking for nothing or he overpays them to reach the salary cap floor... |

I just have a hard time understanding why Nabokov at his age, why he'd want to sign with a team who you know is nowhere near being a contender, we have a starting goalie signed until 2100... All these factors just make it seem like there's no place for him here. He's 37 and has 2 years max left in him, why not spend those years winning? |

Snow is clueless but jesus christ, he's not a complete retard. PA will be a deal worth 4-5 mill per season probably 4-5 years, he's earned it.
July 1st, 2012
Steve Tambellini offers PA Parenteau 6 years 40 million
It's not that much of a stretch, Hemsky makes 1 mill/goal. |

It's only huge if the Isles add real pieces in the offseason. |

I think he does.
If PA comes off the top line he still puts up points. Moulson only gets points because of Tavares. PA can generate offense and can setup and score, Moulson has no sense at all. He's as dumb as a bag of hammers, just bangs home junk and takes gift wrapped passes from JT. |

Jones Beach is a dump..if you ever happen to come back to the Island in the summer go further east. Fire Island, Hamptons, Montauk are all 4000x better than Jones Beach. |

I wouldn't mind seeing Tavares and Moulson separated. If Strome makes the squad next year pair him with Moulson. Strome has tremendous hands and vision and will be a premiere setup man (so I hope). Separating Moulson and Tavares can spread out our offense a bit and make teams shut down two lines as apposed to one.
And when Strome makes the NHL, he's the Calder Trophy winner that season. |

#Isles clunker tonight doesn't change approach to major deadline chips (Nabokov, Parenteau), but could be a few more moves than thought.
It's unexciting and not what everyone wants, but I'd love to ship off as many of the sh!tbag defenseman as possible, for later round picks. |
