It's why I started in with the whole thing. If you only follow legitimate news sources it's a great resource. If you start following some douche that claims to be an "anonymous insider" and provides so much "insight" that it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Well, tomorrow's a big day for Garth, imo. He's either gotta get these guys signed or move them out. I believe keeping them while there's a very good chance they leave as FAs is something you do if you think you're a contender...not something you do if you're in the Isles' position hoping you can eek into the playoffs in a very unlikely scenario with a team not at all built to contend in the postseason. I'm not the biggest Garth fan to begin with, but if he just sits on his hands tomorrow, you guys will probably have to talk me down again sometime around 3:30
- UIF

I agree UIF both need to be moved if not signed. Not sure how many more examples we need that this team is not making the playoffs. If Garth does nothing again tomorrow it's going to be real ugly on this forum and I'm going to lead the charge. Glad I'm working tomorrow and cannot access the site from work.

if the Canucks snag him, look out!

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Brown-Kesler-Booth

Best top 6 in the league...?

Should be interesting to see if the Canucks hold onto Schneider through the deadline or do they move him in the summer. Vancouver has alot of chips.

agreed but we could step in and offer KO and Streit for Brown and one of their defensemen...I'd even throw in a 3rd rd pick to sweeten the deal...

Let me sum up the game and why we not in playoff running.

Reasoner doesn't score on breakaway all alone vs a backup goalie

Mike mottau sets up a beautiful giveaway to other team to ruin our comeback chances.

Isles mgt finally does something right by waiving rolston but the add mottau back in.

They screw montoya all year when he did nothing wrong to deserve it.

I don't blame nabby for tonight. You can't do it every night. He should decline any offer for extension with us as next year the DP circus begins again.

Trade nabby. Try to sign pa now. If he wants to wait. Then trade him too.

KO caused the 4th goal. Sits there with the puck and lets the Sens set up than they break out and Neil pulls one out of his ass. Gayness

Neither are going to be signed by 3pm, nor traded. Everyone here can talk about it until they're blue in the face, but it won't change what's going to happen.

But it seems like they both genuinely want to stay. http://www.newsday.com/sp...l-wants-to-stay-1.3559594

I agree on all points. It was brutal with Butch praising Mottau before the game. Releasing Wallace and Rolston is not enough. I do not blame Nabby at all. He cannot continue to bail out this lousy team night after night.

well not sure LA would want to take on Streit's salary, their D is pretty solid. KO has no real value, he sucks balls.

KANATA, Ontario -- Evgeni Nabokov's agent, Don Meehan, and Islanders general manager Garth Snow will talk contract again Monday, but it doesn't appear the Isles will lock up the 36-year-old goaltender before the 3 p.m. trade deadline.
Neither side seems to feel that's any kind of deadline to finish a deal. Snow reiterated to Newsday on Saturday that he has no plans to trade Nabokov, and the goaltender said after Sunday night's 5-2 loss that he has no plans to ask Snow for a trade. Nabokov has a no-trade clause.
"Only if they come to me," he said after making 19 saves. "I don't know what's going to happen, but I'm not going to do that [ask for a trade]."
Nabokov is one of the more attractive pieces of trade bait Snow has, and there's always a chance a team will come to him with a desperate offer that's too sweet to pass up in the final hours. But both team and player want to keep this relationship going into next season, so it's much more likely that a deal eventually will be hammered out and Nabokov will remain an Islander.
Parenteau wants to stay
P.A. Parenteau is the other major trade chip Snow could turn into a prospect or a high draft pick, but Snow wants to re-sign Parenteau. He had a goal and an assist Sunday night, raising his season total to 58 points and tying him for 17th in the league in scoring.
"I've said it already and I'll say it again: I want to stay here," Parenteau said after the game. "I guess anything's possible [Monday], but I'd be real surprised if I get traded. We're building something here and I want to stay and be a part of it."
Isles files
Steve Staios was a late scratch with a lower-body injury and Mike Mottau suited up for the first time since Dec. 29 . . . Milan Jurcina (minus-28) and Mark Streit (minus-25) are the bottom two players in plus/minus in the NHL.

Trust me chief I know both are not going to be moved. I'd love to know what these two see in the Islanders that I do not see? Why all the talk about them liking what the Isles are building? I'm sure they love the fact they never get grieve about losing from management while making a ton of money.

PA I trust and its his right to wait until the end of the season to negotiate. He's greatful to the Isles for giving him a chance to prove himself but this is the biggest deal of his career and he's going to get the max he can. He'll probably go past July 1st simply to see some offers and give the Isles a chance to match what's coming in.

Nabby on the other hand, completely dumbfounded. Not sure what to expect here. I just don't know why he's so amped about staying now when he didn't even want to report to this team when he was claimed. Something going on here, and his agent Don Meehan is like a cheerleader on the web.

Once the crazy offers start coming in, he's gone. Watch how quickly the words go from "I really want to stay" to "I'm looking forward to helping [new team] succeed."
