What the hell are you smoking?

Semin is an elite talent.

Despite media perception he actually competes hard. Perfect shooter for Hemsky and RNH. He would be back to scoring 40 goals maybe even 50 with those 2 guys.

Anyone think we can snag Bobrovsky or Bishop out of their respective teams.

Maybe PHI would do it straight across considering how bad they've struggled with there goalies.

The Blues wouldn't want Khabby so it would take maybe Hamilton and a 2nd rounder for him which I'd be completely up for.

Or CBJ, they need a Horcoff pretty badly.

Thinking about this, it occurred to me that it may be a shocking trade. The Caps have gone to hell since Green went down, and it's something we as Oiler fans should know as well with our injuries. A lack of a puck moving defenseman.

If Gags goes to Washington, I wouldn't be in the slightest surprised if Gilbert went with him for Carlson plus 1st. The East is getting real tight there.

I thnk you could be onto something here! I have been saying that the Oilers need to move Gilbert. Petry and Potter play the same non hitting style at a better cap hit so time to move him while he is playing half decent.

Carlson and either 1st (Colorado or theirs) for Gag's, Gilbert and I would even throw in the LA 3rd or Ana 2nd next year if needed.

Continue playing like crap in efforts to get Grigorenko 2nd overall, then throw the Wash 1st + what ever it takes to get back in and draft Reinhart.

Ahhh if it was all this easy

For Gagner to go to WSH, I would suggest EDM target Carlson or Alzner. Alzner has one more year left on his current contract, so Oilers can wait to resign him. Carlson would need a new contract and his numbers are decent this season. I can also see Green, but I suggest Green stays in WSH as it's a risk for him since he's coming out of injury. I would also like to see a big package trade for a d-man and Neurvith to be included. Keep in mind WSH also has two 1st round picks this draft. Something big can happen. Ideally, leave Green and Semin in WSH, and target Alzner, Carlson, Neurvith, or even Brouwer.

Bulin to TOR, PHI, CHI, or OTT.

I can live with that, but trying to think bigger...

EDM: Carlson, Neurvith, 1st round
WSH: Gagner, Gilbert, ANA 2nd round, LA 3rd round

Overpayment?

50/50 on Grigs...wide spectrum of in-consistency. Hope Patrick Roy can round him out.

I would agree. his 17 goals would be tied for third on the Oilers and his 41 points would also be third. If he would sign a 3 yr 5 mil per deal I would make that deal you mentioned.
I think getting him away from Ovie is a big thing!

At 17 there usually is some inconsistency. New country, success all playing a factor on this kid! Scouts who are trashing him are probably just trying to drop his rankings in effort to get him? lol...

I don't think your deal is an over payment, actually I would add a prospect just to make sure they made the deal

Omark, get over there! but I would probably take the LA or ANA 3rd round pick off. The thing to keep in mind, WSH does not need nor want to add salary, esp trading with EDM. They need room as Richard mentioned to resign players and go hunting in FA.

I'm a huge Carlson and Alzner fan. I suggested last year we trade Eberle for Carlson. I'm glad that never came to fruition haha.

I am cool with that if Omark is in it. So what's the problem we just negociated that one quickly so why can't Tambo pull this off??
I suppose this now has Khabby going to Toronto for a pick?

Apparently if you are Russian and not named Ovechkin, Datsyuk or Malkin you are lazy, don't play defense, and have a terrible attitude. Basically you suck is what I'm trying to get at.

People need to get over this stereotyping bullpoop of Russians.

Semin is having an off year much like Hemsky.

Actually you are right. The wishful thinking!

EDM: Carlson, Neurvith, 1st round(COL or WSH, don't really care)
WSH: Gagner, Omark, Gilbert, 2nd ANA round, 3rd LA round

Trade Bulin for what Oilers can get. The other team is essentially doing Oilers a favor.

Nah.

Semin is a proven elite player.

As much as I love Gagner I'd do this trade anyday of the week. Of coarse pending the contract of Semin.

I wouldn't want Green anyways. Edmonton already is bad defensively. Green doesn't help that problem.

Pump the brakes....the caps aren't trading alzner or Carlson for gagne. 2nd pick at the most for him. Mike Green isn't going any where either unless u annie up more too. Just wishful thinking.

We need size. I don't mind Semin, but any oiler deal will be for size and or D. Gagner plays tougher than Semin, the team gets smaller on that deal.

Trading Gagner with any team or deal will leave that hole in centre on the 2nd line, Oilers will be banking their money on the draft for a centre that can make the big jump to NHL level asap.

This as well. Trading Gagner would have left a hole like trading Hemsky would have, and the Oilers don't really have anyone suitable to fill it. We finally have Horcoff where he belongs, centering the third line. No way in hell I want them to (frank) that up.

Although I like Gags, I have been on the trade him bandwagon for about 1 year. I gained alot more respect for him and was eating crow a few weeks back when he went off.

But..... he is back to being invisible for the most part and his trade value might be the most it every will be right now.

I would say rade or package him and bring in a missing piece.

You wouldn't care if it was WSH or Coloardo's pick haha. That is going to be like a 10 spot difference by the end of the year.

And WSH gets hosed in this deal IMO.

We draft Grigorenko who would probably be good for 30-35 points next year.

Along with Horcoff and Belanger who should put up 35-40 points each.
