If the Canucks ever do trade Schneider, it won't just be for draft picks. Draft picks are unknown commodities. If we're trading away a potential franchise goalie, then Gillis will need young players who can step into the lineup right away.

Exactly, the only teams he is going to go to is Columbus,Tbay,isles,caps.
Not toronto so forget that, these four are not deep in golaie prospects and have the worse GAA in the league (caps ranked 20, isles=22,tbay=30,Col=29)
So I see only a 1st rounder, very good prospect and top 4 d man/ top 6 forward.
So who on those teams above would vancouver get ? My bet is a s follows

Columbus= johansen, 1st rounder,Cody Goloubef
tbay= 1st rounder, B.Connolly, Radko Gudas
Caps = 1st, troy brouwer (or alzner), Stanislav Galiev

Just my thoughts

I think it's pretty clear Schneider will be traded at the draft. Wish we knew what type of offers will be out there for him. A top 10 draft pick plus a prospect would be great. It could ensure the Canucks will be good for another 15 years if they could have a young core with Hodgson, Jensen, Tanev, Connauton plus another high end prospect or two.

So two of the most credible "insiders" it sounds like.
Doesn't Luongo have a no trade clause? He's not gonna waive it to go to some bottom feeder. I know, I know. "He'll waive it to go to Tampa cause his wife is from there!" Doubt it. Luongo is one of the most competitive guys out there. Think he'd waste the last years of his NHL life just to appease his wife?

If he has the cup then he is a happy guy. He does have a NTC but maybe he is ok to play with Tampa they will be a good team for years.

Nash, Richards, Gaborik, Lundqvist taking up $28.5 million.

Compare that to the Canucks:

Sedin, Sedin, Kesler, Luongo: $22.5 million
