does anyone think bowman would be a hot commodity if he was fired on the gm front
does anyone think he would get an offer as a gm?

- molly2522

His daddy could pull some favors...he would have a job...don't know if it would be a GM

With the His system comment you are referring to Q
- mvp0207

Yes. Ogie, myself and a few others have put our laundry list of issues with Q's handling of this year's team on here several times.

I know. I was just going for the cheap Caddyshack reference due to your wording.

No I read though them I wasnt sure if you were talking Stan or Q though on that comment. I will say Q is most likely a HOF coach but there have been some things this year that have been head scratchers.

Im not buying it. Thats a lot of moving pieces and if its the players who ultimately decide the outcomes of games well then who cares.

I just think a complete re tool moves them FARTHER from a cup for a while.

- mvp0207

It wouldn't take a complete retool imo. They would have to trade some 'coveted' prospects for NHL ready players on entry level contracts and they could take Kane and try to do what the flyers did with richards or carter last year (Richards for Schenn, Simmonds, Grossman and Carts for Voracek, Couturier). The Hawks are way to Top Heavy imo (i.e. huge lengthy contracts to Hossa, Toews, Kane, Sharp, Keith, and Seabs) and their 'prospects' are not nearly close enough to the NHL level to fill in the bottom lines. A new GM could easily balance the hawks out... but he can't be cheap and he has to have some balls to make the tough decisions. jmo.

It seemed like everything he did two years ago worked marvelously. This year it seems every choice he makes is forced and he sticks to his guns no matter how poor the outcome.

Once Monday passes, what does a GM have to do besides possible contract extensions? I see it making little difference replacing him now or when the Hawks' season ends. Barring a huge surprise from Stan, the season will end with plenty of time for a new GM to get up to speed before the SCF finishes and the offseason begins.

Well at this point... let him miss the playoffs so it validates why they fired him.

For me for better or worse I think Bowman has at least next year before a move is made. If they miss the dance this year and next then he gets axed and I think they start talking re-tool. But if they make the play-offs the next few I have a feeling better or worse stan will be here at least another two.

Mc D I think that's a hole different ball game.

That would be step one but I still think hes gets 2012-13 also. That would be his deciding season. I dont know if thats right but thats just what I think,

Yep going to be a very interesting 70 hrs if the teams behind the Hawks keep winning and the Hawks flat tire this weekend.

Aves just blanked the punchdrunk Jackets 5-0. Now have 4 teams tied at 66 pts.

Stars are beating Wild 3-zip mid way through the 2nd if they win they move up to 68. How important was that 3rd period brain fart by the Hawks last nite??

Phx vs EDM and Col vs Det Sat nite while the Hawks play at Kings.

Probably, but he'd have to fire Q. SB would need to place the blame on someone in order to prolong his stay in Chicago.

In other news - sounds like Brassard is about to get dealt, tonight.

Should McD stay, how many times will he let Stan put his foot in his mouth?

Niemi and Ladd are part of our core and aren't going anywhere. We aren't worried about offer sheets. We have flexibility so we can make moves at the trading deadline.

I would have to think Tallon is pulling muscles in his side laughing at Stan.

How about this for a trade proposal:

John McDonough for Ted Phillips

Give McD a year and he would double the Bears' revenue. Hawks get a President who will stay the hell out of the hockey side of things.
