Rick...if Nash was as great as you and others make him out to be...WHY THE PHUCK would the Jackets be looking to unload his sulky a ss?
- philco28

The answer is obvious, look at the standings.

And who do you think the Red Wings would take if they had an equal opportunity to get Sharp or Nash?

Quite possibly the most overrated Hawk...ever. Without Kane and Toews setting him up with tap in goals night after night he's an average player. He finishes, that's it. He's Rob Brown. Never creates any chances for himself, always living off his linemates work/creativity. He might be marginally better defensively than Kane...might be. Nice sniper, good guy to have around, but far from a complete player.
- Ogilthorpe2

Sharp has 184 goals and 183 assists in the NHL...nice try. And one of the best character players this organization has seen in the last 30 years.

Still waiting to here more on Brassard, lot of internet buzz on it tonight and one tweet saying it was imminent. This is one the Hawks could be in on. I will not stay up for it.

If by chance the Hawks make a big deal Stalberg almost has to be included.

The worse thing that happened to Jackets besides poor drafting was to make the playoffs before their time.

- Al

I agree on Stalberg being included. But I think they ask for more along the lines of stal Leddy a first and Morin/Saad vs stal sharp and a pick. And maybe we get dorsett too.. Which would be tough to do for us. Again. 6 mil guy for 5 more years who is 30. Can't see them wanting that back.

I don't give 3 cruds about the Wings...i'd take Sharp over Nash for the Blackhawks 8 days a week.

Me too. There are LOTS of players I'd take over Sharp FOR SURE, but Nash isn't one of them.

Best to get some sleep. Stan will decide to look at the waiver wire instead because there will be a 38 year old on there that he thinks has some juice left.

Oooops, the bear was awoken.
C'mon ogi, what did sharp do to make you dislike him so much?
Plays regular shift, PP, AND the PK. Is a + player and you just can't appreciate him. What gives?

- dpard

I don't dislike him, just think he's very overrated and soon to be very overpaid.
I do appreciate him...for what he is, a pure sniper. I just don't pretend he's anything more than that, and he's far from untouchable in my book.

I think if Nash goes before the deadline it won't be that much at the Draft a different story when many more teams can bid.

My guess it would have to be Stalberg, Pirri, Morin and a 1st/2nd
or
Stalberg/Pirri/Saad/ and 1st/2nd

The problem for Columbus only one roster player back and no goalie....But better chance now than in summer.

LOL...he's a Mite hockey player, no playoffs, just a regular game, before a tournament in a couple weeks in PA, tomorrow is his first game at D so I'm excited to see that. His main problem is he is the size of a damn 4-year old so his talent is hidden.

He is really small. He's a beautiful skater, but these huge kids who skate like dump trucks can actually keep up with him, because of their physiology/genetics. I suspect he'll be a solid role player in travel leagues and then end up in the beer leagues with me.

Said it before many times here...he is the chemistry guy every team needs, he's found a home with us, he's been a great mentor to 19 and 88. BTW, I'd love to hear their thoughts on Sharpie. I'd wager they hail him BIG TIME.

So you appreciate and value setup men who can't and won't play D more than finishers? Cause that's kaner. And Kane is already overpaid instead of about to be overpaid.

Columbus will collect enough draft choices to use to be able to get themselves a decent goalie in the summer.

Your trade is quantity over quality. Howson couldn't take that deal, there are no proven players in the package.

I like Sharpie too. I think Rick Nash is a super star though. I think Nash could score 50 on the same line as Kane.

It's not delusional, it's just opinion. I know I'm in the minority on this one, I'm fine with that. I just watch him play, then come here and read people gushing over Sharp's play...I just don't see it. Never have. Again, nice player, fills a need...I would never trade him just to trade him, but if it improves the team...go for it.
