You guys, that deal makes no sense. you're trading a 35 goal scorer who can play C and W, PP and PK and a guy who has 30 goal potential who is just starting to emerge, PLUS a 1st rounder for a power forward who has never scored more than 41 goals and has a 7.8 million dollar cap hit.

How does this make the Hawks a better team? If anything, it creates more holes.

Younger than Sharp, bigger than Sharp, Stronger Than Sharp, more physical than Sharp....better than Sharp. It's a steep price, but I think it would have to be considered.

Jimmy Hayes doesn't skate nearly as well, and isn't nearly at the same point in his development.

Jimmy Hayes was the best Hawk on the ice for much of the night last evening.

Saw Brassard play tonight, same as he has been all year. Competitive, creative, played right point on PP (very well I might add). Kinda surprised CBJ would deal him actually. That's why I thought it had to be for a G, which then led me to VAN.

We'll see. No Hawk scouts at CBJ tonight I heard from Portzline but that means next to nothing. Hawks don't need to scout him.

Apparently there WAS a Hawks scout at the WSH-MTL game though...

In reality you may be right. I just put the scenario by my buddy and he told me to get off the board and laughed out of the room. I see your point for sure. But Nash gets his points with Columbus. He should be a standard 40-50 goal guy playing with our top 6. Its tough but I think they can sacrifice the one they should have the talent to replace whats your vector victor so the true deal is Shar for Nash.

Its a good proposition because it makes you think BOTH ways.

The point is you're trading 40 goals, at best, for 60 goals. You're also trading defensive awareness for size. Nash doesn't really hit many people, he's just strong on the puck. You're also trading away versatility for a one-dimensional player, albeit a very talented one.

You only win a trade in which you get the best player by paying what that player is worth. If the Hawks traded Toews, keith and Sharp for Crosby, would they have won that deal?

Yeah I don't think any of us expect us to get him. Kind of a pipe dream.

Don't get me wrong, I like him a lot and I think he'll be really good, I just think he's behind Stalberg in his development right now.

Who has defensive awareness? Not Sharp. Sharp is the very definition of one dimensional.

Not really your assuming what 30 sharp 30 victor or 40 and 20 for Sharp and Stahlberg. Thats their high end and your assuming a lot for Victor.

Stahleberg also gets a replacement here in Chicago. So even if that replacement gets 10-15 and Nash gets 35-45 you are looking at 45 60 total.

But your points about Nash not being a PK guy and only playing wing (although at this point it looks as though Sharp is not going back to center) with not the best defensive game is well taken. About 5 articles ago I argued against Nash big time. But I think that was a Kane for Nash discussion.

No offense, but of course he is....Stally's played 175 games in the league and Hayes has only played in 16. I saw Vic play a lot with Toronto in his early days, and Jimmy Hayes if miles ahead.

If you want the player go big or go home.

Otherwise, no sense complaining about Bowman picking up sloppy seconds when Chicago is a big time market. Where he belongs is running an ECHL team in Wheeling, WVa.

Nash at times good be worse he sometimes completely loses interest in playing defense.

This is the very definition of overvaluing your own roster. Nash vs. Sharp is no contest. Nash any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
