Have to give up talent to get talent... You can swap Kulemin for Armstrong, Kadri, Colbourne, d'Amigo or Frattin I guess...
LA guy who keeps saying you don't need D what about Kadri + Armstrong + Frattin for Bernier + Brown? That's pretty much what the Leafs have to offer if you don't want Schenn or another defenseman. - Lipchitz
I understand Brown is good...I just don't see what he bring more, other than hits... |

He does score a bit. But we are talking about the Kings here.
Once he leaves LA he is a 30 goal, 70 point guy for sure.

what was jay feasters rant about last night?? - manifest30
I agreee - I'm stunned it's not far bigger news today. Between what Coach Sutter said post game and the frank direct poop that feaster said I thought I'd wake up to a mass of calgary rumours.
Yet nobody is saying poop. |

LA don't have a 1st round, 2nd round, and 3rd round pick anymore this draft, LA will probably find a way to deal Penner, Brown, Bernier, Mitchell, Stoll to recover those picks.
As per Dreger..."A quality young d-man and solid secondary scorer part of what might land Brown. He's worth it."
TOR most likely has the above demands from LA to land Brown, just who. |

i cant believe the jets actually think they are good. they blew it against philly, almost blew it against the lightning and they are one point ahead of FLA and FLA has FOUR games in hand... winnipeg will be in like 12th by the end of the weekend. and to think they might actually be buyers lol. |

Well, I could argue Kulemin is the same for points production in a best case scenario. What's Brown's contract? |

for years your only bet was finding out through some other team or player and even then you had to disguise it in some way so Lou would't freak out....however, starting just before the Kovalchuk signing things loosened a great deal. no one really knows why, but for example I wrote about Kovalchuk to NJ before it happened...and now it is common knowledge that Parise is going to test the UFA market...no matter what. some speculate its because Lou is getting ready to retire..but honestly we don't know - Eklund
its common knowledge parise is going to test the market?
id love to hear where you hear that
Lou doesnt talk contracts till the season is over, and parise has said he knows that is the way Lou works and he will work with him when the season is over if not before
not once has he said anything that resembles him wanting to test the market, that is speculation |

This was a joke right. Considering it would take Kulemin and Schenn to get Brown MAYBE I think Bernier has way more value than a mid second rounder in a poopty draft. - The-O-G
Schenn is a 22 year old stay at home defensemen that still has Norris trophy potential. He would fit in to the Kings Top 4 immediately and look awesome beside Doughty. Kulemin is a former 30 goal scorer who is awesome in both ends of his ice, if the Kings think they can have both Schenn and Kulemin (who is a very similar player to Kulemin but smaller and with less upside) or Brown they can go somewhere else. |

Brown probably has one of the best contracts in the league in my subjective opinion.
He makes I think 3.5 mil a year for the next couple years. |

It was suggested that Nashville could offer Colin Wilson, Jon Blum & 1st for Brown? Would that be a deal that LAK would have to seriously consider? |

Here is how it could go down....
Stafford, Boyes(strictly salary) and leopold +2nd
for
Brown and Penner - TwistedWrister
$11M proposal from BUF for $8M proposal to LA...might not happen as they are close to the cap and want to resign Quick, yes Boyes become UFA, but tough one for LA in cap terms. |

Brown is definitely a guy who a team needs to win and I'd love to have him, but I'm not sure I'm willing to give Kulemin and Schenn for him. Especially Kulemin. The guy was the most highly-sought after leaf this time last year and now I feel everyone is writting him off. He's an RFA and we could likely sign him cheap because of his off year. We need to hold on to our own products... |
