No we don't. We need depth at the forward position.

We are deep at D and we have Voynov to replace Johnson.

People who say otherwise I don't think really know the Kings.

in that case voracek and eric wellwood for d brown?

I like Richards and all but what exactly has he done to deserve to be captain of the Kings?? He has underwhelmed on an underwhelming team. Also what does Tampa have left to trade for Bernier? I assume Stamkos, Hedman and Saint Louis are untouchable (as is Vinny for his contract vs performance).

For Brown? No way. Most likely Schenn and a forward like MacArthur.
- WafflesAtACC

That is a lateral move, doesn't help the Leafs make the playoffs, doesn't help the Leafs down the road. Schenn isn't going anywhere anyways.

mike richards is a whiner. if he was such a good a captain in philly holmgren would've told laviolette that he's my captain, like it or not. you don't trade a "good" captain because he became one under the previous coach.

armstrong if he can stay healthy would be a great player in the playoffs.

his cap hit is expensive at 3.0 milllion his older contract at 2.25 was much more in line with what he's worth as a 3rd liner. I know .750 doesn't seem like much but it does. that's alot of extra money come the trade deadline when that becomes over 2 million in salary you can take on.

Leafs have alot of options for their bottom 6 so armstrong's salary is too much. If the leafs can get even a 4th for armstrong you do it.

Bernier to the Lightning makes total sense.

If that should indeed happen, who do the Leafs turn to address their shoddy goaltending situation?

The Blues , the Caps ?

The Sens have to be looking for help in between the pipes as well , dont they?

The goaltending situation around the league is becoming more and crowded in terms of buyers.

Carter: I miss my homies
Howson: So.....Richards and Lupul?
Carter: My bro's!...the strippers here suck!! No wait.....they don't suck!!...No wait...
Howson: You poor spoiled soul
Carter: You're mistaking me for Nash, get me outta here!
Howson: I'll call LA and TO and see who's the fool to match you up with your former homie

Dustin Brown is a great competitor, but on a good team, hs's a 3rd line RW. Not a top 6. To say he deserves better, is crap. It's a business, you have to do whatever possible to win cups. That being said, id movs Kopitar as well. He plays scared hockey and shouldn't have an A on his chest. He hasnt played tough hockey or used his size to hiz advantage in over two years. He constantly gets rocked because he plays too soft. Id trade Kopitar before Brown, and put brown on 3rd line RW behind williams and carter. That being said, I'd love to keep Kopitarif he can figure it out. I wouldnt trade Bernier or Quick until next year. DL has no safety net because quick AND berniers contracts expire next year. Quick will have more value because Bernier is technicallyunproven at the NHL Level.

just for Garth?
- bobbyisno1

yup Garth. Look at the history of Nabokov and the Isles and try to decipher it all..

*Garth picks him up when the guy clearly wants nothing to do with the Isle.
*Nabokov refuses to show up which sends a terrible message to the players
*He finally does show up and then plays pretty well
*Garth despite having several goalies tells everyone he is NOT trading Nabokov "NO WAY IN HELL" and wants to extend him suddenly (despite the fact that less than a year ago he basically said the franchise is useless)
*Now we are hearing Nabokov can be had IF he isn't extended, BUT bidding starts at a first round pick...

Sweet Jebus...if we could get Brown and get rid of Army, I'd shell out for the good whiskey tonight!

I doubt the hockey gods would be that kind to the Leafs though....

Also, I can barely listen to Hockey Central at noon anymore because Don Maclean is such a HUGE goddamn Nash homer it makes me sick....

20 goal scoring captain who throws his body and bangs......I'm thinking it IS not as easy to find as we may think. Statistics wise you may be correct. Effort and leadership-wise, probably a little tougher. "Not hard" may be a stretch.
- Charlie Conway

This is exactly why I dont want to see him on the Kings he thinks he has more skill than he really does (shoots into skates, misses shots, tries to deke around dmen....) Fails most of the time (watch him next Kings national broadcast). I have no doubt if he goes to another team he will put up 40-50 points, but I would like to trade the guy for someone who actually knows how to shoot the puck and put it in the net

Sniper over grinder any day right now for LA
