Yeah, trading DB wouldn't solve anything either I don't think.

Problem with our system, well, one of them, is we don't have anyone crashing to the net really. The F3 stays back by the D and never really gets into the offensive zone too much. No cross ice passes. Just no net presence at all. Shots tend to originate from the D back by the blue line, but when you have no screens, you or I could make the save.

I'd agree with the Bernier part, but I think DL is going to hold off until we can get Quick signed. If we deal Bernier now and Quick doesn't resign, I don't want to say we are screwed, but it would definitely suck.

In a perfect world though, I agree with you on the Bernier idea. I like the kid, he deserves a shot somewhere. We do need a D for depth but I have a feeling besides maybe Penner, this is it for the Kings. Hopefully they get it together.

Everyone keeps talking about finding players that will fix the Leafs... What about the idea of getting rid of Wilson? He doesn't seem like the guy to keep this team motivated.

You have failed all day at not being a 'Richard'....

You have added a significant offensive player, who has yet to play a game for you yet...

Nobody talks about getting rid of Wilson because we know it won't happen.

Honestly i wanna put this in perspective because it really confuses me...

Why in the hell wouldn't the ducks trade Selanne, Visnovsky, Jason Blake, Koivu, Hagman if they are still far away from making the playoffs and thats a BIG IF, if they make the playoffs. Why wouldnt they trade selanne when he is at his highest value, same goes with visnovsky; these guys could definitely bring in some 1st rounders and prospects with the history of stats they had and the stats they have as of now. These players are older but come with experience and are playoff ready players to be dealt.

Isn't it in the best interest of the ducks and their organization to gain some youth/prospects back and reassess themselves in the summer on who they should sign that comes with an appropriate age? Dont understand them.

what would it take for D Brown?? Because i think he is just what the leafs need, a leader, a second line scorer and a gritty guy, gets his goals around the net. If it involves Schenn Gardiner or our 1st round pick they can take a hike. Although i would be open to packaging Kulimen Kadri macarthur type players.

We have a set defence core between LILES, PHANEUF, SCHENN AND GARDINER. We are not trading any of those 4. Franson, komi, gunner are all available though

This adds nothing to your question but...

I hope the Ducks never figure it out again. I can't tell you how many fair-weather, band-wagon Duck "fans" I know who always throw up they've won a Cup without knowing simple facts like naming 5 players on the team, who the goalie was, who they played, etc.

It is sickening.

I think the Ducks have one of the worst fan-bases in the NHL.

This is admitedly an ignorant comment since my knowledge of Dustin Brown is limited to whatever highlites come up on SportsCentre....but the qualities that people give to Brown (hitting, 2-way forward, leadership, gritty), sounds a lot like we already have in Colby Armstrong who currently warms the press box for us.

Is Dustin really worth what LA's asking for a guy with 31pts?

Yeah and tell me this, what if they dont make the playoffs? WHAT IF selanne decides to retire? Isnt it better to acquire prospects and a 1st rounder for selanne? Isnt visnovsky better off to trade when hes at the age of 34 and acquire another 1st rounder and dump some salary? Where selanne, koivu, jason blake, hagman are all UFAS by the summer? Isnt it in their best interest to reorganize their team and still keep their top big 3? and thus come the summer time have some fun signing some guys for their second line with a good age to their name? iunno the ducks are confusing.

Once anyone leaves LA, they usually produce more offensively.

Add that to what Brown brings to the table already...

Depending on what the offer is, I'd say yes.

Selanne and Koivu both have a NTC and I doubt they waive them, even if ANH wanted to move them for picks/prospects.

I liked the ducks '03 run way better than their Cup winning run actually, Giguere was just amazing those playoffs.

1) LA would be stupid to give up brown, cause come playoffs he will be a big difference and a major contributor.

2) Leafs best interests are to pursue a first line centerman still(stasny) a goalie(bernier or schneider) and then later if not by the deadline if Nash isnt traded then the summer they can look at the bigger fishes like Parise or Nash.

Yeah, Giguere during his Duck run was amazing to watch. Sucked I couldn't root for the team, but as a fan of hockey it was fun.
