I'd do Brown + Bernier for Lupul but unless I'm getting back absurd value i don't mess up the chemistry between Lupul and Kessel.

Yes I would. Hossa is in a nice solid place in Chicago where there won't be large roster turn over.

AO and washington are in shambles right now and looking at going into rebuilidng mode and new coaching staffs.

Ya gotta think with a healthy Backstrom he's going to light it up, no?

Well, Lombardi has succeeded in what he said he would: Building from the back up
- JamieS

Lol. Yeah. I love our D and our goalie.

Hell, I even love the guys we have on offense.

I just wish they'd shoot the puck in the net more!!

we give money to good players not bad ones. buffalo wishes they had someone remotely close to stamkos caliber.

i cant believe columbus is spending 1.5 mill more than boston right now...and a total of 61.7 million.

- boltsfan48

sad part about having stamkos vincent and st. louis is your still terrible. Thats how Tampa gets superstars, they are terrible with them and get high draft picks

I have the same fealing but... I'm just a little nervous (and sad) about maybe trading Ovechkin... I drafted him when he was still playing with the Dinamo in 2004.

Yeah, trading DB wouldn't solve anything either I don't think.

Problem with our system, well, one of them, is we don't have anyone crashing to the net really. The F3 stays back by the D and never really gets into the offensive zone too much. No cross ice passes. Just no net presence at all. Shots tend to originate from the D back by the blue line, but when you have no screens, you or I could make the save.

I'd agree with the Bernier part, but I think DL is going to hold off until we can get Quick signed. If we deal Bernier now and Quick doesn't resign, I don't want to say we are screwed, but it would definitely suck.

In a perfect world though, I agree with you on the Bernier idea. I like the kid, he deserves a shot somewhere.

- StayTunedMTC

This is my input, LA has no need to trade Dustin Brown. Why? You guys have Richards 30+ goal scorer, Gagne when healthy 20-25+ goal scorer, Carter 30+ goal scorer, Kopitar 30+goal scorer, Williams 20+ goal scorer, and Brown 25-30+goal scorer... That is a ton of firepower upfront and if you guys can solidify a playoff spot which i know you guys will, your going to need all those guys to make a strong playoff push to go that far and probably the finals.

Bernier makes the most sense to trade but in a way your right. Quick will obviously resign, with penner and stolls contract up, you have tons of money to resign your star goalie but i dont think trading bernier right now is the right move... what if quick gets hurt in the playoffs? or before playoffs? you need a goalie not some random goalie. Unless Bernier is traded for a strong defensemen that could help tighten the core, i honestly dont think LA needs any more firepower, but should focus on their defense and 3rd liners to kill off penalties and such. But in true fact they dont need to trade bernier right now, probably in the summer yes most definitely.

what does anyone think about Brown to Fla for Garrison, Samuelsson, a 1st, + prospect?

If it's a keeper league, then no chance. You can land a much bigger haul for OV from someone who thinks he'll return to form.

If it's for this yrs playoff run only, sure...I'd do the trade

- aj_furf

nope it's a keeper... and the sick part of this deal: the other DG in my league has Semin' Backstrom and Green...

What?

You honestly believe that Lupol being traded during one very good season would be able to net another team's Captain who is a 50-60 pt scorer and a VERY good 2 way player in the checking category AND a future #1 NHL goaltender?

Well, it's a stretch. Sure lupul's having a good year, but it's a little hard to say he's going to stay like this for a while. His story is great, but he's been really hurt the past few years, and only had 50+ points three times.

Easy there cowboy. No need to go all di.ck head.

I do wish Buffalo had a young superstar like Stamkos but at the same time I never hope for Buffalo to go to worst 3 teams in the NHL and beat to sh.it by everyone.

Lecavalier is gonna prove to be a bad contract for you guys at 7.7M until what 2020? He is already severely degressing from his prime years.

EDIT: Also, Eric Brewer and Matthias Ohlund are not worth almost 4M a year. Hedman is borderline being worth that much as well. So slow your roll.

- JVince117

well ohlund was solid wen he was brought in and was more to help hedman develop. my god i cant stand brewer. i hope we trade him too. he gets the job done a lot of the time but man does he look awful doing it.

I just threw a hail mary to a guy with no good tenders. Thomas for Ovi straight up. Unlikely, but....more to come.

Oh I think he will for sure. But if we want to try and win with Iggy and Kipper (insert joke here) we will need a couple impact players via free agency in my opinion.
- whipper334

and even with Baert. we need a center.

Exactly my point. If I trade Lupul now I want to be compensatation equivalent to a player that is Top 10 in points in the NHL, Which Lupul is. The Leafs aren't going to come anywhere close to that if they were to move Lupul now.

It's laughable to think the Leafs would move Lupul for much less.
