Your offense should be fine you have Richards, Carter, Kopitar, Penner, Gagne, Brown Clifford, and Williams.... That's more offense than almost every team in the league. - Lipchitz
Clifford shouldn't be included in there, Gagne is injured.
But you're right we should be fine.
But we're not.
That's why I said we need a system change, or at least major tweaking. |

I think they want a more bonafide NHL top 6 forward than Kulemin.. No disrespect. - JVince117
Iunno if you were columbus, wouldnt you want our youngest guy on our NHL roster that the leafs are willing to give up that is a forward? Kessel aint going anywhere lol. Kulemin is the 2nd youngest forward on the leafs. Unless they want Bozak.... |

Agreed. If Kulemin is the only roster player the leafs are giving up to land Nash, I doubt that'll get the deal done. |

27 turning 28. Why would they downgrade from Nash to Lupul? they are like the same age. If im columbus, im trading all these big contracts and bringing in younger guys, prospects, draft picks. |

Not to be a Richard, but you do realize Sutter is our coach and Lombardi pretty much set this system up for offensive failure. |

TBL are just a few pieces away from being a legit top threat every year. They clearly have the scoring. They just need more defensive pieces. Hedman is your future but there needs to be a better veteran presence on the blueline.
If they had a top 12 NHL goaltender who could steal games... YIKES - JVince117
we had a vet D man in ohlund but then he got shot in both knee caps and is done for the season and possibly his career. i wish we could get someone like weber or suter or stuart. we have so much cap space people dont even realize. if we spent to the cap one year we would win the cup no questions asked. we would lose money but oh well. we have over 4 mill in cap space and with ohlund on LTIR we can go over by a few more mill. and with young guys like killorn, ashton etc we will have even lower spending in the bottom 6 next year.
killorn, moore, ashton
hall, thompson, tyrell for our bottom 6 next year will cost us like 5 mill or less.
still think malone gets traded and connolly plays in minors next year.
so we need 2 top 6 forwards. and 2 top 4 Dmen and a goalie. |

I don't know, I think we blow the trades out of proportion on these boards because in the end the players end up moving for less than what we expected.

I said COLUMBUS ---_____---- i said why would columbus trade for a guy like lupul thats the same age as Nash in a trade where Columbus is getting rid of big contracts and surely looking for younger guys while if they traded Nash in a deal with lupul in it, thats a downgrade for columbus. |

+1 Just need to let the guys play without the distraction of the deadline. They're better off using Bernier to acquire defensive depth + an asset or two.
Trading Brown would really solve nothing but if Lombardi is dealing him the Leafs could really use a guy like Dustin Brown. |

Columbus will be relocating to Quebec City or Seattle in the next 3 years.
I don't know who said it but we do overthink these trades on here because most of the time players go for less then we think.
But anyone puts one of those trades on here as an idea they get laughed out of the room.
Vanek/Sekera/Luke Adam/Pysyk/2013 1st for Nash. I would do it. |

we give money to good players not bad ones. buffalo wishes they had someone remotely close to stamkos caliber.
i cant believe columbus is spending 1.5 mill more than boston right now...and a total of 61.7 million. |

Yes I would. Hossa is in a nice solid place in Chicago where there won't be large roster turn over.
AO and washington are in shambles right now and looking at going into rebuilidng mode and new coaching staffs. |

Yeah, trading DB wouldn't solve anything either I don't think.
Problem with our system, well, one of them, is we don't have anyone crashing to the net really. The F3 stays back by the D and never really gets into the offensive zone too much. No cross ice passes. Just no net presence at all. Shots tend to originate from the D back by the blue line, but when you have no screens, you or I could make the save.
I'd agree with the Bernier part, but I think DL is going to hold off until we can get Quick signed. If we deal Bernier now and Quick doesn't resign, I don't want to say we are screwed, but it would definitely suck.
In a perfect world though, I agree with you on the Bernier idea. I like the kid, he deserves a shot somewhere. We do need a D for depth but I have a feeling besides maybe Penner, this is it for the Kings. Hopefully they get it together. |

Easy there cowboy. No need to go all di.ck head.
I do wish Buffalo had a young superstar like Stamkos but at the same time I never hope for Buffalo to go to worst 3 teams in the NHL and beat to sh.it by everyone.
Lecavalier is gonna prove to be a bad contract for you guys at 7.7M until what 2020? He is already severely degressing from his prime years.
EDIT: Also, Eric Brewer and Matthias Ohlund are not worth almost 4M a year. Hedman is borderline being worth that much as well. So slow your roll. |

If it's a keeper league, then no chance. You can land a much bigger haul for OV from someone who thinks he'll return to form.
If it's for this yrs playoff run only, sure...I'd do the trade |
