Sure, because we're so stacked and deep at forward, let's trade one of our top forwards... Better yet, let's trade Brown for yet ANOTHER d-man. These rumors are getting stupid. - cryptical77
Yeah I know right.
Trade Brown because his feelings may get hurt over a rumor that Richards may get the C on his chest.
If Brown would be that butt hurt over it, see you later. But I just don't picture Brown as that type of guy, nor do I think Richards deserves or maybe even wants the C.
Funny how this all came to play right around when Jeff Carter was talked about. |

Omg I'll give them Armstrong for a Jets Jersey - Leafsfan9329
I thought he was supposed to be the be all end all in TO. The real "Brian Burke" type player. Now that I think of it...Every player Burke picks up is a "Brian Burke" type player according to the media. |

"Why is it when a GM gets fired, the new GM gets to name his own coach, but when a coach gets fired, the new coach doesn't get to name his own captain?"
Because when the GM picks the new coach, the old coach is no longer with the organization. If the coach changes the C, the old C is still in the room. - jacquescloutier
The coach could change the captain if he wanted to...but what kind of message are you sending to the current captain if you strip him of the C, in the end; whoever else "could be" the captain will still be a leader int he dressing room.

smoke and mirrors, Deano isn't done yet, the real question is will he actually make a move that pays off. seems like everyone that puts on our sweater plays with the knob end of their stick on the ice and straps butter knives to their skates... but just like every trade deadline I will be like a midget at a urinal... (on my toes) trying to see what happens next |

I'm a big Armstrong fan, but if the Leafs can move that contract to Winnipeg it would be a plus. Dustin Brown would be a great fit hear too |

Buffalo is always tight lipped, If Bufflao is your front-runner, then history says they are not even in on this. I can't remmeber a rumor involving Buffalo that came to fruition. (since 2007)
With that said, I'd sign up for DB, as would 29 other teams I'm guessing. - Charlie Conway
Well, in fairness to Eklund, he had the Sabres interested in Regehr for years, and other reports out there have also stated the Sabres'/Pegula's interest in Brown. And maybe the tight-lipped thing is fading a bit now with the new regime? I am too excited at the prospect of landing DB to rule this possibility out, and will remain hopeful....because he is exactly the kind of player the Sabres need. |

For as difficult as Richards is to deal with from a media perspective, he is a phenomenal on-ice captain. He is absolutely loved and adored by his teammates. I have seen it. -Ek
Yeah, SOME teammates love him. More than some don't. Kinda the whole reason why he got traded from Philly... And the same reason you're reporting on Brown right now. |

I would really like to keep Army, but he's missed as many games as he's played since being in Toronto, not to mention his $3 million cap hit. He's a great guy to have in the dressing room and solid third liner. If we can get a 2nd for him, it wouldn't be an awful option for a salary dump. |

ah funny...hadn't thought about that one in a while. If Rick Nash isn't dealt now, with all the rumors that go up to the draft I will need a symbol to discuss him...Any ideas? |

Armstrong to Winnipeg?? Inciting, as Armstrong is useless and his contract is cumbersome, but would 2 teams in a battle with each other for the playoffs really make a deal???
Come on now. |
