True, but what is more dangerous - relying on 1 rookie added to the blueline, or a forward corps that can't score a goal to save their lives? Seeing how many 1 goal games the kings have lost so far, I see no change coming for the playoffs without serious help up front. To trade away one of our top 6 to plug a possible hole on D seems to me like a far quicker route to failure. Immediately speaking anyway.

You've already traded for a 40 goal scorer. Every game in the playoffs is going to be a grind, if you can't play physically on the backend your D will be worn down before the first round is over. You have your offense, maintain it and add to your blueline and the Kings could have that 1st cup.

And I'd love to tell you where I heard that.

Hey EK...obviously pure speculation, but if Parise DOES hit the market on July 1, any teams that you (im asking personally) think he's like to go to? People have made the hometown Minni connection, but also he wants a cup....so, thoughts?

I hate Mike Richards. Most overrated player IMO. Plus a locker room cancer

This is who you want to make captain?

I'm just glad Carter and Richards get to party it up in LA now. They're probably drinking a beer to that right now.

I'd love to have him on the Leafs. He's the perfect fit between Kessel and Lupul....though I can see him butting heads with phaneuf. I really think if we could get good value for Phaneuf, I'd rather richards...

I don't know where this has come from to be honest.

Richards hasn't proven he is captain worthy in my opinion.

But what do I know...

Because you have spent a lot of time in NHL dressing rooms right???

You have no idea what these players are like.

And don't try and tell me you do.

And we traded for a 30 goal scorer last year, and we all know how that worked. For arguments sake, what would you say to Brown+ for Lupul? Make the Philly reunion a clean sweep.

I hear you, but you just got done saying a few posts ago regarding Voynov that the playoffs are a whole different ball game and that (paraphrasing here b/c I forgot exactly what you said) young guys might not be able to handle it.

Which is why we have Scuds and Mitchell. 2 guys almost any team would want to go to war with in the playoffs. I don't want an unproven in Schenn who has been a healthy scratch this year.

I guess my question is... what has Schenn proven so far that he deserves to be Doughty's partner over Scuds and Willie?

- StayTunedMTC

I'm a big fan of Scuderi and Mitchell but, don't force them in to roles they can't handle. They're both 4-6 D-Men and extremely important on a contender but the Kings need more. This is Schenn's third year in the league IMO it makes more sense for someone like him to be thrust in to the Top 4. It allows the Kings to let Voynov to assume his own role. If he bumps Scuderi or Mitchell out of the Top 4 great, if not he is a solid #5 and the Kings will want him to get playoff experience anyways.

Carter is not the answer to our offensive problems.

Our D is fine.

Our offense is last in the league.

We need a lot more than just Carter.

We need a system change in my opinion. Or at least tweaking.

I'd do Brown + Bernier for Lupul but unless I'm getting back absurd value i don't mess up the chemistry between Lupul and Kessel.

The Leafs are exactly opposite. Our goalies and defense are getting hungout to dry because we have no defensive system. Wilson and Sutter need to compare notes and find a nice compromise....or both jump off a (frank)ing cliff. Either or.

He goes to the same Starbucks every day around 5am on Bayview, according to an interview he did with TSN. Maybe you could "bump into" him.
