Dude, relax on the constant Toronto attacks. If you're arguing with one guy, why do you have to lump all the fans into it?
- Juice

This is what bugs me, just because ONE fan makes a dumb offer doesn't mean the whole fan base can't add 2 + 2.

Whether Quick was a Top 5 goalie last year or not, I've got to watch him a handful of times this year and he is clearly one of the best starters in the league now.

The names don't matter but, the production does matter. Why do you think Scuderi and Mitchell got less ice time than Johnson? Perhaps because they were less adept in the situations Johnson was put in on a nightly basis. Their production will go down with more minutes (as they are forced in to less than ideal situations) and you are left to bank on a rookie with no real depth besides Greene... If you think the Kings are fine on D, go for it but, they'll be out in the first round as of now (unless Quick gets hot).

- Lipchitz

Bottom line is offense is a FAAAAAAAAARRRR greater problem right now. If Brown goes, we need scoring in return. Not more depth on D. At least not right now.

I don't need to look at the stats because I've watched the Kings a lot over the years and talent wise Johnson is a Top 4 D-Man on any team in the league and significantly more talented than Scuderi and Mitchell.
- Lipchitz

Offensively, yes. Defensively, not a (frank)ing chance in hell.

*On Dustin Brown... I can confirm the Flyers are in on Brown as are the Rangers, but I truly think the Sabres are the favorite with the Leafs a close 1A. I will definitely follow this all day.

Thanks Eklund, as always, let us know when TSN confirms he`s been traded.

Your problem won't be solved until you sign Price without breaking the bank.

Or until you trade Subban...more fights in practice than on the ice this year? Sounds like a great dressing room guy...

- clarkysduster

Price won't likely break the bank this year (RFA) and Subs gets a little intense in practice. If you were to watch any of the videos, the only guy he's actually "fought" with is Plekanec. I'd rather an all star in the making who were intense in practice than pylons like dion and luke.

Bartschi might help. I'd like to see some toughness on the D-line too.
- jtommyt

Oh I think he will for sure. But if we want to try and win with Iggy and Kipper (insert joke here) we will need a couple impact players via free agency in my opinion.

I'm not realistic?

When I see something stupid, I say it is stupid.

That to me is being real.

When I see a dumb trade that does not make sense, I say, "Hey, that's a dumb trade that doesn't make sense."

I'm a buzzkill if you want to call me anything.

- StayTunedMTC

a buzzkill isnt something to be proud of... proposing theoretical trades is pretty much what forums are about so why even be here if your not going to participate... not to mention im not the one who even made the original deal... all i was saying was all other fanbases over rate their players just as much as leaf fans do

First off, his name is Matt Greene, not Mike.

Second off, Johnson was our worse defender for offensive production the last 3 years as well as worst defender on the defensive side as well.

Meaning, he had the lowest production regarding ppg while also allowing the opposition to have the higher ppg production while he was on the ice.

We may need another defensemen, but not one that is a healthy scratch some nights. We have a 7th defenseman in Drewskie as well as a stacked AHL/OHL roster of D.

Dude, please know what you are talking about before you say it. You may sound more intelligent. May.

- StayTunedMTC

I agree with this because I don't recall too many Kings fans having too much love for him. Granted, they didn't want to give him away, they were keen to see him walk through the door.

LMAO.

Man, please stop.

Did you not just say Mike Greene a few posts ago?

Once again... while on the ice, Johnson has been the worst ppm producer on the Kings over the last 3 years, as well as allowing the most gpm during the same time span.

You crack me up dude...

I come here to talk hockey.

All fanbases do overrate their players, I've said that plenty of times.

I'm not saying all of this as the angry typing guy, sorry if I come off like that.

I'm actually laughing through all of this.

This. Which is why Dean's plan was to pair a puck mover with a stay at home guy. Voynov will be paired with one of them. Looks solid enough for now until something blows up.

you havent seen everyone say parise is being traded at the deadline the devils wont even be close to the playoffs at the start of the season, to he will be traded at the TD the devils will be on the cusp, and now they are saying he will leave

yet with 0 facts backing them up, its all speculation on their part

Kulikov isn't going anywhere. He's got too much potential to be a top 2 Defense man.

Just puttin it out there, but how untouchable do you think RFA Duschene is..?

I would LOVE to see Stastny + Duchene --> Grabbo, + + + + + +
Get rid of Grabbo, he's not worth 5 mil per, and WON'T be resigning in the summer.

You're looking at like 7 mill for Price I think....
and Subban may have all the tools to be an all star, but given his poopty attitude and terrible play this year, it's yet to be seen if he'll become anything special.

Kings fans.. I won't throw them all together, but they have as a whole not liked Johnson's play.

What is ironic is I was one of the only ones who stood up for the guy. He has potential, he just has never lived up to it yet.

After this Jeff Carter trade, a lot of Kings fans are livid. Johnson AND a 1st for Carter?

I mean say what you want, all trades are risks. But we sold high on Johnson and bought low on Carter. It may not work out in our favor, but our only strength this year (besides Quick) has been our D, and we are fairly deep with prospects.

And I was one of the only ones who actually liked the trade. It's funny how it all comes around full circle.

My god you are a know it all? Why aren't you an NHL GM yet? The Kings will be lucky to get a deal like Blacker + Kulemin for Brown and when the deal goes down and they get less you'll be upset.

I've coached hockey for years and stats rarely tell the whole story. I can tell a lot more from watching a player play over an extended period of time than I can from a stat sheet. I don't even really see a debate here.

There is a Mike Green and Matt Greene, I can never remember which one is Mike and which is Matt... I don't really see what the big deal is.
