It has been a little weird because that trade was being discussed last week, for whatever reason the trigger was not pulled until now. |

been up since 3am has made me hostile
im sorry sulli was a flop signing... i dont like him on the team nor on the point for pp, as for dupes he might make up in pk and come cheap but he cant finish a play, cant recieve a pass and lately has been taking penalties... ok keep him on 3rd or 4th line... just bc he is alil faster then some of our players doesnt mean he plays on the 1st line.... dupes can be replace by vitale or jeffrey on the pk and alteast jeffrey can hit the net!!
i really hope shero has a crazy trade and we get another legit scoring winger... and if not then we better get one in the draft!!! |

Zidlicky for Foster, Nick Palmieri, Veilluex, a 2nd round pick, and another pick? I get Foster and Veilluex are basically throw ins. But that seems a lot for a guy who was a continual healthy scratch no? |

NH: I think your Hemsky angst has colored your judgement. No offense, but no way he should be making James Neal $$. That's crazy! All indications are Edmonton wasnted teams to severely over pay for him, and I'm VERY glad Shero didn't.
And I'd wholeheartedly disagree with you on Sullivan. The main knock on him was his health, and that has not been an issue. He's on his way to a 40 point campaign, and his presence on the PP has vastly improved their entry into the zone. The numbers bear this out as the Pens are producing at a 19.7% clip...simply put, the PP has not been this good in the Bylsma era, or even the past 4 years. Its not all due to Sullivan, but he's been a huge help.
Dupes is what he is, but I really don't know how you can complain about him.
Ek is now saying the Pens are after Malone...I guess this means maybe they put Sid on LTIR for the rest of the year and shed cap space somewhere (*cough* Martin *cough* in the offseason) |

As for Malone ... it makes NO SENSE. Cap wise, it makes no sense ... team makeup, it makes no sense. I know we need to acquire a physical presence in front of the net, but Malone is fragile. He is far from the player he was in Pittsburgh at his best. It's not like he is a pending UFA in which we can discard at the end of the year. You are stuck with a 4.5 cap hit for the next three years. You need to rid yourself of Martin just to offset the Neal signing. Getting Malone costs you something decent.

Martin was out the door once Neal signed. Adding Malone would cost you something else.

i never said the hemsky deal was good...
sullivan was brought in to be a top 6 replacement and in my eyes and waht i see, i just dont see it... i feel if we have two puck moving D on point during pp it will greatly improve our PP, it gives the added D help for no sh goals and it stops us from cycling to much and skating around, it keeps geno on the wall or down low and we will shoot more...
dupes is dupes but he can be easily replaced...
and as we all know ek doesnt know what hes talking about... why would we want malones cap hit.... |
