Would any GM in their right mind take on Bryz's contract?

Gomez was traded, and who would have ever wanted him $7.5 a year

A reminder for the silly season. If it isn't a link to a legitimate news source (not a rumor blog, not a non-full-time sports reporter/news service) or a copy of a tweet with full sender info (preferebly from a Verified Twitter account)

DON'T POST IT ON HB!

People have enough trouble sorting out and discussing real trades without people disseminating fantasy stuff.

And if you want to discuss Ek's blogs, please do so on Ek's threads.

Thank you.

Teams that need to reach the cap floor will have to take on ridiculous contracts. So you are right there would be a team that may need to do that (ie:Campbell and Fla).

what bout the hit on Kecji against Boston in 2010...? i'm shocked you said he was a bad captain, hes been the best captain since Primeau...
- Flyers4Life88

No. Not even close. Hatcher and Smith were both better captains than Richards.

Richards was a very good player. At times great. But he was not a good captain. Good captains embrace the role, honor commitments outside the rink, show up on time, deal responsibly with the media, do not promote cliques, and if there are cliques in the room already, they work to bridge those gaps and bring the players together. There is no evidence that Richards did or even tried to do those things. And there is plenty of evidence that he didn't, or at minimum didn't do them well or successfully.

And towards the end, it seemed pretty clear that the burden of being the captain was affecting his play on the ice and his effort level. He was downright lazy out there at times during his last season here. That was never the case in his early years here.

I liked pre-captain Richards a lot. Hated Richards the captain, and am frankly shocked that LA would even consider making him a captain now. I find it hard to believe that the lack of maturity that doomed his captaincy in Philly is now magically gone now that he's in LALA land.

my beef with richards is simple: in my eyes, he was signed to that megadeal because he displayed all of the qualities we expect and that you outlined above. somehow and slowly, he got away from those things and was a completely different player. and the numbers don't lie. 30 and 50 in 08-09. this year, he's on pace for 42 (!!!) points.

if he were the same guy today that he was in 08, he'd still be here, wearing the c.

I cant believe they are actually on the same team again. I never thought those two would be together again. Well atleast Jeff got his BFF back.

it's a desperation move by lombardi cause that team needs scoring and something to keep people excited about the kings
