I would offer Voracek, Carle, Bob for Bernier and Brown today.

I dont think the Flyers are a "true" contender today but that could change. I think the odds of Carle returning are slim and I would do this deal thinking about next year and freeing up money to sign another defenseman, possible Suter.

- stveshdy

Then we have another hole on defense, which we just made 2 trades to fill the 2 huge gaping holes we had before.

Listen, I didn't come here to get in a pissing match with you. Giving a guy an enhanced leadership role, whether it be in hockey, the work world, or whatever can have a positive phsycological impact in the person you give it to, and on those around them.

I view naming a guy captain as more than just stiching a piece of frabric on the sweater, and apparently you differ.

It wasnt a pissing match. You asked what we thought.. I was the only one who responded and you answer with this

Sorry I didnt give you the answer you wanted. I will tell you this. If this teams psyche is so fragile that you need to name a guy "C" to have psychological impact on the team we have bigger issues.

You didnt like my answer... shouldnt have responded.

Of course you would expect it but it doesn't mean it would happen. You're a dreamer. By even stating this, you're selling the LA Kings short, who have plenty of skill up front. Brown being traded here doesn't automatically make him a better player. The only reason Schenn and Simmonds get traded here is because they're bombarded with talent up front. The only reason Simmonds gets 20 here is because he couldn't get Power Play time with LA.
- roenick97

How is it dreaming to expect Brown to come in here and be a physical checking forward, with some offensive talent???

Pitt was a deep offensive team, and it didnt stop Talbot from shattering his previous goal totals... I don't expect Brown to put up the numbers Hartnell did this year... I would expect 20-25, which is realistic for a Brown's talent, on this team... Its not a dream to expect that...

I dont see this team as a legit contender. I also see Carle walking after this season. I would rather free up money looking toward adding a defenseman in the offseason. You would have to let MAB/Gus/Lilja play in that six spot. Im looking towards the future bc I dont believe their good enough to win it this year (even though anything can happen). Just my personal opinion.

Excluding this season...

Brown had 226 points (109 goals, 117 assists) playing in 322 games over the previous 4 seasons. Hartnell has 196 points (92 goals, 104 assits) having played 325 games.

Yep, they're similar players.

One day I'll love Voracek and the next I'll hate him. Right now I really dislike him for screwing up that 2 on 1 with Schenn last night. He's on a one year deal and I feel he should be tempting enough to the LA Kings. The quality defenseman going the other way would be the issue.
- roenick97

How did he screw up the 2 on 1??? He made a great move to his backhand and the puck bounced on him.

For all the accolades Rextall Place gets for it's ice, I saw a lot of guys losing their edges last night and the puck bouncing all over the place.

DRAMAdelphia. Bryz had a strong game last night and it still wont be good enough. The offense was no where to be found but will ignore that part of the game.

Bernier is a better rated prospect then Bob. Who do you think gets a bigger return in a trade Bob or Bernier? Its not terrible if you plan on replacing Carle with Suter in the offseason. You also lose Voracek and add Brown. Upgrade your goal situation.

It's already been stated time and time again this season that this team is looking to contend. It doesn't make sense to spend draft picks in Kubina and Grossman if management didn't believe in this team. Homer is doing an outstanding job of making this team's future bright and contending this year.

He made the right move on that play... Dubnyk is 6'5''.. he had blocked off that side of the net, and had the puck not bounced on him, Czechie is slamming that one home.

Flyers already have a good prospect goalie, why trade additional assets for a similar one?

What's interesting is that the Kings have not clicked this season offensively.

The Flyers will make trades to contend. They do it ever single year, that doesnt mean their a contender. My personal opinion, their not good enough to win the whole thing this season. Im looking towards the future. They probably plan on signing Grossman or Kubina in the offseason.

Honestly, I think that's a great trade. I'd just want to make it in the offseason. We cant really afford to give up Carle right now.
