hahaha the irony is that the bottom pic was "representing" the islanders; pretty girl is the rangers.... we go for the underdog/ugly duckling - LetsGoIsles
Fat chicks need love too. Or in this case, science experiments that went horribly wrong.

STFU you, its enough fighting with one teams fans today. - B2B76
First round playoff exit. As usual. Gaborik will be a playoff no-show. With or without Nash. Hopefully you get him and give up prospects, picks and max out payroll. Then you'll all cry about how 2012 WAS the year we coulda! And go back to being the poor little Strangers. And Dolan can put both shoes in his big fat mouth.
Finally some common sense!!!.....You could play Gretzky w/ pandolfo(rolston) and/or reasnor and he would have a crappy season too....either move him up in the linup or send him down...before we kill his career too. - Isles4fornow
The analysis is very simple: You have two guys. One is a 19 year old kid with tremendous upside, who by all accounts factors significantly into the team's future. The other is a 38-year old veteran who is on the last year of his deal and will not wear an Isles sweater again past April. Both guys are on the NHL roster for certain reasons, even if they don't belong on it (Nino because he can't moved to AHL, need of salary for cap purposes; Rolston because they need his cap number). NEITHER GUY IS PLAYING WELL AT ALL. If you're the Islanders management and coaching staff, its not really rocket science to understand that under these circumstances, Nino should be playing on the third line and Rolston should be cut, but if he's not going to be cut, he should see only fourth line minutes.
Its scary that this analysis is as obvious as it is, yet this team's management and coaching staff don't see it.

Ill have to say that I would anticipate the Rangers getting past the first round this year man. Look at who they are going to play....Toronto/florida/Buffalo? Please...no shot for any of those teams. I think if the Caps draw 8th it could provide some potential issues for the Rangers if Washington comes out of their funk. But no chance the NYR lose to one of the crappy teams vying for 8th. You gotta take those Ranger hating glasses for a second and look at what the Rag$ have accomplished this year. As an Isles fan I hate to say it, but im impressed with their play, give them credit where its due.

Thats all Cappys fault. Lets just hope that when Doug Weight takes over this team (which you all know will eventually happen, id bet on it) he sees things differently.

I am to agree with you. With Hank the way he is playing anything is possible. This could be a real long summer if they win the cup and we are sitting here in the same position
nothing against the guy but that was one of the dumber posts ive read in a long time. comparing islanders to rangers is like comparing:
VS. - LetsGoIsles
I wasn't comparing, duh making a statement that there's really no rivalry bc of how each team has gone down seperate roads. Its only bragging rghts for the fans, thats all.....

I hate to say it, but the Rangers are a real threat to win the Cup. They have a world class goaltender and a deep solid defense. If they get any kind of scoring in the playoffs, they could win it all.

psht the queen cant win past the 1st round, and even then its hard for him, 2 career playoff series wins, in neither did he have to steal the series let alone games
till he proves he can play in the playoffs i wouldnt consider them cup contenders

Cappy's coaching has two glaring issues: One, he can't seem to get his F-ing team to start playing from the first drop of the puck. The simple fact that the team has thrown away about a dozen games just by virtue of not being ready to play in the opening minutes and giving up one or multiple goals before the players break a sweat is a major reason why this team is on the outside looking in. Cappy's second glaring issue is that his personnel decisions, especially the Nino/Rolston stuff, are terrible. Problem is, there's no way of knowing whether or not Weight, if he does succeed Cappy, will be any different.

Agreed, no doubt
I dont know if all this Nash to NYR is BS or not, but I think it would be silly for Sather to screw with their chemistry right now. For once he should just keep his cards to himself and ride out the team who has been dominant all season.
Oh good, the entire Atlantic division except the isles. Terrific. - Isles316
What did you expect...I got a tweet this morning saying the Islanders aren't in the market for trading Okposo or bringing in anyone...I think I posted it earlier today...

It will be a close game like always I'm sure. I got a feeling our top line will strike tonight, Gaborik usually has great games at the Coliseum. - B2B76
lLast two games in december weren't that close...look for the islanders not to show up tonight...but I hope I'm presently suprised...
funny an how dumb this coaching staff is, Cizikas up centering the 3rd line, ( which he should be ) in his 1st game, but Nino still getting 4th line minutes, an been here the whole year.....................thats a problem
Ok, niƱo has one goal and zero assists and is minus a million. What has he done exactly to earn more ice time ? He shoul be in juniors - Isles316
Bring him up, have him play with some of the absolute worst players in the league with limited ice time. Then send him back to juniors? Great idea. Mismanagement at its best.
