Time will tell. I honestly don't think Johnson is that good defensively (I think I heard he's a -93 life time on a Kings team that regularly been around the top of GAA) so it's not like they sold the farm. Plus Johnson is on 4.3 so it's only a slight increase in the Kings' cap.

Sure, but Johnson is a 25 year old Dman with big offensive upside. He's also 6'1 231lbs. He's a big strong dude who's likely to get better. Carter? We'll see if he gets back to his potential.

If you match an offer, you cannot trade them for that season. Same thing we went through with Kesler. It's in the CBA and was pre current CBA.

I think teh new CBA will include a "Franchise Player" and allow someone's contract to not count in the cap. It would reward teams that actually have a solid fan base and money to spend and also allow a GM a mulligan if they overpay someone to the point they are untradeable.
