like nabokov - basementfloor
Hell no.
That is what I'm worried might happen, so Burke can help his buddy Wilson keep his job for another off season.
Not that I think Nabokov is any better than Reimer or Gustavsson, because at this point I dont think any goalie will help this team the way they are playing.
They dont give a poop. |

No chemistry, no leadership, no heart, no nothing.
I wish Burke would flush that turd of a captain before Monday. |

i've been down on phaneuf to.. bang on. don't see much leadership, seems to be lacking quite a bit of heart... didn't even realize he was playing tonight.
but i think a lot of it has to do with what his coach is getting out of him. phaneuf is still young, and has accomplished alot. just like a lot in toronto... he seems to be in a funk, and misguided on the whole direction end of it. wilson needs to go before the captain. |

Wilson needs to go forsure, if Burke does nothing tradewise by monday, i'd be content as long as he finds a replacement for rotten ron. |

nope.
kopitar's a stud. no need to move him.. i think they move a good portion of the team before they ever even thought of trading kopitar.
i think brown only goes for cap issues. he is their captain after all, it's a little late in the season to make that adjustment in the dressing room.. and that's without even considering trading kopitar.
think of nash. the leafs would have to give up probably something like macarthur, gardiner/schenn, kadri, 1st rounder.. as a minimum. and that would be to a team who's looking to trade nash... LA has no want, need, intentions of trading kopitar. he's the guy that the team builds around.
... unfortunately.
love bernier though. if it's affordable.. i'd love to see him in toronto. |

Well lets break this down
Reimer - Bernier
Schenn - Brown
Grabovski, Kadri 1st - Kopitar 2nd
Bernier should net more than Reimer - and Kopitar would net more
So the answer would be No

i would to..
even if they make the playoffs it's just to get crushed.
rather see the future get brighter, and having to not watch the leafs in the playoffs again is validated if it means wilson gets canned. |

I posted this in the Kings' thread, may as well post it here too...
"Listen bro, as a Habs fan you're hardly in any position to sling sh1t.
Honestly, the idea of Carter coming to T.O. was certainly intriguing and might have been a cool story, but to be honest, many Leafs fans could care less.
Personally, I'm hoping that T.O. becomes a seller and drops into a lottery position as the Leafs are only 7 points from doing so. Even IF the Leafs SCRAPE into the playoffs, are they really going to be doing any damage? No.
1. Cut the fat before the trade deadline
2. Acquire solid prospects and draft picks
3. Better our 1st round draft pick(s)
4. Call up some players and give some of our younger guys some experience
5. Fire Wilson's ass after the final game
6. Pursue Parise in the off season
7. Pursue a #1 goalie in the off season (Offer sheet Price )
8. Pursue a #1 center in the off season
9. Fill other gaps in the off season
10. Look toward the 2012-2013 season
THAT IS WHAT THIS TEAM NEEDS TO DO!!!"
Go Leafs. |

so if I understand you want a coach who can get you to the playoffs but you don't want Ron Wilson to make the playoffs so he gets fired. |

didnt burke say he wasnt interested in a 5 year rebuild
derppppppppppp - wingz4life
Really, pal, what kind of person consistently delights in the misfortunes of others?
As for Burke and the rebuild, Ken Holland, Jimmy D., or even Jesus Christ could not have rebuilt in less than 5 years the mess that Burke inherited. Just shut your trap for a change, would you, instead of constantly chirping your two bit crap? |
