i was born here, i was raised here and i will continue to live here. those who know the city know that downtown is going thru growing pains to become more habitable and entertaining. those who know the city know that there's 10x more to do in the suburbs than there is within the city limits. why anybody gets all steamed over these kinds of things is a mystery to me. when somebody who makes a poop-ton of money playing sports says something about your city, just understand they usually come from/play in a city with a minimum of 3x-6x the metropolitan population - meaning a better economy. of course this place is gonna look like a ghost town. of course there's nothing to do. people keep leaving. what executive or marketing director for major stores, businesses, restaurant chains, etc is going to say "Buffalo is a prime target for our business" when there's next to nobody around? you want to change the perception, change the people making the decisions on projects that have ballooned and deflated before coming to fruition. can't change the people making the decisions? time to pull up the stakes and move on. it gets said many times, you can take the person out of Buffalo, but you can't take the Buffalo out of the person.

The city is pretty miserable, but I live in the suburbs, thanks.

with the rate the new city "development" is going he will be saying this again 7 years from now, i am from there but live in chicago and hope one day to move back but not until there is true leadership in the city and things actually get done
