I agree to a point, but Carter is considered more valuable than Roy because he has been a 46 goal scorer, 30+ two other times (36 & 33) and 29 goals another year. Derek Roy has had one 30+ goal season (32). Goals are what win hockey games and they are what bring glamor and value to NHL forwards and Carter brings that skill and achievement with him. Carter could have had those stats in Buffalo and he would have been as valued by scouts and GM's just as much as if he played in Philly, NY, Toronto or MTL. Novice fans, they might value big city players more than small city ones.

Also, I forgot Carter was the third pick overall in the 2005 draft. When you are a top 5 pick, that helps you shine in the eyes of many.

I don't agree. Fisher can skate, Gaustad can't. I really hope he does get a 1st if he's traded but I don't see a team giving up a 1st for a 30 year old, slow, 4th line, UFA, rental, center.

I don't see Gaustad garnering a 1st. Roy should but with his injury last year and his poor year since that injury, it might not be so cut and dry. With him picking up his game and centers being in demand, I'd say he gets a 1st.

Carter didn't have a great year. It seemed like he had that hat trick and his value skyrocketed. If that's the case Roy's recent performance could get us a 1st and maybe even a prospect thrown in.

It's not me saying it, it's history saying it. 6, 7, 8 seed never won the cup. 5th in conference, only twice. The worst team to ever win the cup was the 8th best team in the entire league. All facts, so sorry if I don't have faith that a team that has been garbage all year is all of a sudden gonna win the cup if they somehow manage to back into the playoffs

I like Myers but I think McNabb is a better defenseman. He doesn't have the offensive skills of Myers, but he is more physical and defensively sound. We need a #1 center more than we need an offensive defenseman.
