I don't quite understand you. You're always clamoring for change on here yet now you're hoping for status quo.
Back into the playoffs? Re-sign Goose? How does this help? |

Both are going to be studs but I like Grigorenko more. - sabresfandan
work ethic has been questioned. He should fit right in.

With Carter and Ruutu off the market, the Sabres should move both Roy and Goose to teams looking for help down the middle.
I'm surprised there are Sabres fans who, like Darcy, value a week or two of playoff hockey more than the opportunity to capitalize on a seller's market. - Losman
I could'nt agree with you any more. I'm totally dumbfounded |

You think LA will now be looking at defensemen to fill the void?
Sekera/Leo/Grags+Goose for Brown...anyone? - IceColdBeer
That was my thought too
Give them a defenseman to take the place of JJ and a forward to take the place of Brown
Throw in a pick (not our 1st)...
or take Penner also to help give them cap room to make another move
Just somehow get it done! |

Agreed on both. I still think Sekera is way better than Grags is (or will be), but if Sekera gets the deal done, do it.
I'd still like to see Roy moved as well, but only if a quality center comes back in return. As much as I want to break the "core" up, you can't just fire sale and put yourselves in a huge hole up the middle.
And I love Vanek, but if Vanek/Pysyk and a 3rd gets you Nash? Do it. If Gaustad gets you a quality return? Do it. Make some changes to the team and be bold. |

How are we taking on Penner's salary to help some other team w their cap room?
Someone should be helping us with our cap room. F Penner. Total DOG.

Two games don't make a season.
The west coast swing will put the playoff hopes to bed. It's too bad the deadline isn't after the next road trip.

Nash has done nothing. Nada. How many times has Columbus been to the playoffs since this guy's been in the league?
Why move Vanek and Pysyk for a guy who has done zero for his team?

it's hard lol.....
Grigorenko is slower but he has improved his game alot
Galchenyuk if he did not get injured he would be the 2nd overall pick imo
right now for me Grigorenko - gerbe75pts
Sounds like its kind of a toss up if u aren't worried about the knee...
I'm really excited that we might have a chance at Galchenyuk
The highest I could see him going is 5th, but I think he could slip down to 7th or 8th
That's crazy value for the guy
Armia-Galchenyuk-Kassian
could be a hell of a 3rd line 2yrs from now...
I know we're all impatient & wanna win now, but let's not get too crazy either
I don't wanna trade away a group like that which could dominate if given the opportunity

Nah...
Trade Stafford and Grags to Dallas for Mike Riberio and Steve Ott...
Make the playoffs and square off vs Boston with some grit (Ott, Goose, Kaleta, Regher, McNabb, McKormik, Webber, and... "gulp"... Myers?).
Now with a 1a/1b center combo like Riberio and Roy...
That becomes one he11 of a playoff series!!! |

Staff and Grags doesn't get Ribeiro and Ott no way the Stars would do that. |

I think Goose brings more to the team then Stafford , we can't move Roy we are weak at center and Stafford will be hard to move. We either need to add to what we have or blow the whole thing up and start all over, I have no faith in Darcy for either move. We are in a tuff spot. |

Anyone else watching Flyers-Oilers? Geez, Bryzgalov is awful...like worse than Miller awful The book on him must be "just shoot it". I can't believe they would sandbag themselves with this guy for 8 years. There's something to be said about the system in Phoenix pumping up goalies stats; look at Mike Smith this year. Wonder if Philly will trade for a goalie by Monday? |

His numbers are about the same as Vanek's with a team that hasn't been nearly as good. If you are looking to change the core, that's one way to do it.
Columbus would get a player who is relatively similar to Nash in production and salary, but with only two years left. They'd also get a blue chip prospect. |

are you stoned ? no way does dallas trade ribeiro and ott for grags and stafford. I love how everyone thinks that staff has any value at all he is miserable he'll be a 45 pt per year player for the rest of his life he only had 52 pts in 62 games last yr bc it was a contract year |

Yep, I don't think anyone in the "hockey world" expected this after the money that was spent, new players and owner. |
