Have had it with this team. New owner same goal maybe lets try for eighth.
We have not had a #1 center since 07-8. Darcy and Lindy must not think center is an important position. Maybe Darcy can extend Gaustad and sign Bob friggin Corkum at the deadline, If we get real lucky Brad Boys. It baffles me how a GM who has not made a good trade in years, passes on good players and throws money around like a teenager at the mall to get Leino has a job. - hafgod
You give Darcy too much credit. We actually haven't had a top center since the 06-07 season |

Hell yes, if that's what we have to do
We could prob then trade Penner to a desperate Toronto team... Even if it's just for a 5th round pick
Or send him to Rochester if we really have to
He's UFA after this year, so I'll def take Penner if it means working our a favorable deal for Brown - jdfitz77
Why are we talking about Brown. Its not a Darcy player. He hits and has heart.
Darcy only wants small non hitters who have zero heart |

I hate his inactivity as well, but this doesnt bother me...i wouldnt want him in on this kinda deal - Homer
How many guys do you see moving off this roster by Monday? I know you said that management likes Brown, do you think there's a chance there or will Monday come and go and it's business as usual? |

Where was a deal to save the season when we were free falling from 3rd to 6th to 8th to 14th? I'm sorry but if Pegula thinks we had a Cup contending team, and your season is blowing up, you do something in January, not February 27th. No GM should keep their job letting this happen. |

As much as roy would probably be the best value and wouldnt mind trading him we definitely need to be getting a center(or 2) back if he leaves. We have no one else as sad as that is |

Its not how the leafs play.
Darcy to me thinks he built a stanley cup team.
If its 5-6 out he stands pat |

As per Chris Botta, hockey writer for the NYT, the Rangers are in on getting Brown as well.
I have wanted the Sabres to get Brown for a couple years and I would have no problem if the Sabres dealt Pominville to get him and it's going to take something like that to do it. Our scraps won't do it. |

agreed. darcy usually gets grief from people at the deadline when he gets rentals that don't work out, but very rarely does he give up anything of value for these rentals. you could make an argument that because he doesn't give much up, it's almost worth getting a player that probably won't pan out, just in case he strikes gold and looks like a genius. also generally when darcy makes a move, which is rare, it seems to work out pretty well. (not including the deadline deals that didn't work out) |

we need a center to make a playoff push
darcy gives the leafs a second for moore instead of a second for antropov
mair is our second line center
that tells me all I need to know on darcy |
