It's not surprising that they've set the price high, it's perfectly rational negotiation. It will go down.

Never underestimate how dumb GMs can be, and how desperate....

Burke put it best yesterday when explaining why GMs get so dumb at the deadline, "there's 20 carts in line and 2 checkouts open."

What's even funnier is that it always ends up the same way, some pseudo-contender or bubble team will make a bunch of aggressive moves at the deadline and everyone says they won the day, in reality the best results come from the actual contenders who make quiet, but crucial moves

I can see your logic here Ek but I hardly see the Sabres wanting Penner, he just doesnt fit here at all!

Now as far as Brown , I can see him in a Sabres uniform and Darcy wanting him in one.

J.Carter , I just dont know , and I just dont think Darcy wants that salary on this roster going into next season.

All depends I guess on what money we remove from the books at the deadline and what contracts he thinks he may re-up heading into next season.

Some tough calls here but Darcy certainly has some pieces off roster and on roster that can obtain some very good talent in return. He just needs to utilize his pieces properly.

Dont be surprised either to see Enroth moved at the deadline, just a hunch.

With Marty Biron becoming an UFA next season I can totaly see Darcy going after him in the off season and bring him back to Buffalo and back up Ryan Miller once again.

Many things could happen .

Have been hearing alot of murmurs about 2 different Habs trades. One to Columbus and one to Nashville.

I've been hearing the Carter And Brassard rumours for a package which would include Plekanec, Kristo, and a bunch of picks.

Have also heard alot about Kostitsyn to Nashville along with Weber for what appears to be a 1st and negotiating rights to Radulov.

Funny thing is that Montreal is so tight lipped that you know it's not coming from their end and they absolutely never make a move to a team that is rumoured.

Both may need a change to get theyre games back. Penner for a good player before he came to LA. Well a decent player. Penners game in EDM is greater than Boyes in the past four years. The Kings will make a move like this i think before something huge. Boyes may or may not be done scoring goals.
