How about this as a trade ... Staff and Joel Armia for Dustin brown and a 2rd pick.
Staff can score has a lot of skill but needs a change Armia also a skilled RW with a big up side, then we get that on and off ice leader we need |

Yep. Initial reports say that. Never know since he's out with a concussion. Could be interesting as facts come through |

i can't bring myself to trade a guy that I have hopes for like Armia on the Wing.
he just has too much speed, stick skills, such a nice frame, and a good shot.
I would talk about catenacci before Armia.
Untouchable prospects:
Kassian
Armia
Sundher
Foligno
McNabb |

I know but for a guy like brown would have to over pay but I also see that as a deal that would help both teams a lot.. |

They are also different type players.
Armia is a tall linky scoring F that can also play defense.
Brown is a guy that can put up Stafford like numbers but can play defense like Greir or better in his prime.
Brown is also 27 already and is already making 3.175 til 2014 |

I would feel lucky if Foligno can compete on the 3rd line in the future. |

I'd be willing to move a few BUT it would take a great offer. I just hate absolutes. I mean I wouldn't be looking to trade any of them but if the caps hypothetically wanted to move Ovie I would consider trading one.

Foligno is 6'3 227.. Likes to hit.
He has 33 points in 52 games in the AHL.
He is basically what we wish Stafford would be.
Brown is an already NHL proven version of Foligno. |

That's the guy I'd be most likely to move. |

IMO Kassian, Armia and Cat are about the only Offensive prospects we have that may be top 6 type of guys.. we have a bunch of 3/4 line or fringe NHL players coming up.. |

I know if staff had a game like brown he would be my fav player .. Brown is the type of guy we need on this team.. Armia is a guy that could be 3 years away plus it really scared me when he admitted he has never watched NHL hockey |

I know your being hypothetical but I would NEVER want Ovie on this team. Well atleast not 2011-2012 Ovie.
If we are gonna trade away our future I would want it to be for a younger, more cap friendly, franchise cornerstone than Ovie.
Ovie embodies exactly what I want... A phenomenal scorer, a big body, not afraid to lay people out, and not afraid to fight.
Ovechkin has NEVER been the same since he got a C put on his chest. |

There are Panthers tickets available for $1.50 for the game tonight, that's outrageous. There are also center ice tickets probably equivalent to our 200 level, for 25 bucks. |

I've never heard about that.
I just picture in my mind what the like 2013-2014 Sabres will look like and I don't like the idea of changing it.
Vanek, Pommer, Galchenyuk, Kassian, Kaleta, Ennis, Armia, Catenacci, Foligno, Adam... unfortunately I see Leino and Stafford still on the team.
Myers, McNabb, Ehrhoff, Pysyk, Brennan, maybe even Finley/Gauthier-Loc |

Nope , i am not willing to move Armia nor Stafford.
Stafford has been dealing with serious family problems for most of this season.
Stafford is not going anywhere.
And why would I want to unload perhaps one of the flashiest playmakers to come along to the Sabres in quite some time in Armia for a guy like D.Brown ? |

Russinas and Lindy is like fire and water though |
