Colborne seemed to play fairly well when he was given the chance. I can't argue that he is ready because Im sure after the full NHL sched he would disappoint.
Still, if Connolly didn't have that spot automatically, Colborne or Kadri could be given rotation and some serious time playing for the big squad. - Leafland
I agree about Connolly...it is stupid signing. |

Uh yeah
1) The drop off was NOT as big as Sundin's goal output (it was less than half Sundin's last 3 seasons.
2) They did not replace Sundin with ANYBODY, and they still did not lose all his output.
3) When Kessel effectively replaced Sundin's goals... they offensive totals didn't spike.
Losing a guy does not automatically mean your goals for go down by that amount. It doesn't work that way and the stats do not support that arguement at all. Besides right after Sundin left, the total purge began... - GoneFullRetard
Still there was a pretty big drop off and alot of it wasn't covered by his replacement player...Grabo.
Kessel has "effectively" replaced Sundin this year... considering he is young and is producing at a pace we should expect for the future.
2011-2012 - 60 games in 181 goals on pace for about 247 goals. That's a massive increase from the last three years where the team has been just awful. |

Pommer and Vanek are a top 5 1st line in hockey.
- TerryPegs
So were going squarely based on this seasons stats?
I think we may have the best pairing in the NHL then! (Just by glancing at the numbers) |

You're fired. - ejeezy
You want a goalie?
Nabokov is the cheapest one available and his cost is a 1st round pick.
If Grabovski wants the reported 5.5 mil he wants he is going to get traded... better prepare yourself.
Pirri is a 20 year old centre, is one of the better Blackhawk prospects and has chemistry with Jerry D'Amigo from their time at RPI. |

A 1st for Nabakov?
Are you mad? - Fakepartofme
Sad to say......... but i'm thinking thats what it may take.
Snow knows the Leafs dilema....... either pay up, or we'll keep him ourselves.

Apologies if someone said this already, but who would you rather have on your team? Grabo at 5.5/yr or Jeff Carter at 5.3/yr. Granted, JC's locked in for 9 years after this, but the way salaries are skyrocketing, that won't be so much in 5-6 years from now.
I say, put Grabo in a pkg for Carter, or use Grabo to recoup some futures required to land Carter. Sure beats watching Grabo walk. - 1979AD
Columbus has no use for Grabo.
Los Angeles has no use for Grabo.
Chicago might.
Burke is quite likely looking to unload Grabo and then flip the return as part of a deal for Carter or Nash or even Setoguchi or Ribeiro or something like that.

No one is giving a first round pick for Evgeni Nabokov... |

No one?
Detroit traded one for Kyle Quincey.
Nabokov will resign with the Islanders or will be moved for a 1st.
Maybe we can get the Isles to take a contract as well... Lombardi or Komi.
Any other goalie out there and you are paying a 1st + |

Grabo for Nabokov + something of minor significance but not totally useless.

If Grabo gets moved it will be to Chicago or Nashville.
Maybe in a deal for Lindback... if not, for one of the many C prospects Chicago has. |

I think CLB will only want signed players or RFAs coming back....nobody is going to sign an extension there unless it is for stupid money. |

I'm hoping that if Burkie has to give up the first that he can convince Snow to take the hometown boy back as well

I also think you can get at least a 2nd for Grabo's rights if we hold onto him |

Let's assume for a minute we lose Kessel for nothing.
What if, we also had a solid #1 goalie by then. Also our young D will be 2 years more experienced. Also, Kadri may have finally matured, or Colborne, or McKegg or someone else they pick up in a trade...
You just can't take off one guy and immediately assume those goals are gone. - GoneFullRetard
Those are alot of ifs.
I assume a good amount of those goals are gone if this team has Kadri/Frattin replaciing Kessel at the moment.
BTW- thank god we have Lupul. |
