Agree 100%, Carter is more important then say Miller/Price/Ward. Nabby would be perfect, he gives you a veteran goaltender with playoff experience. Could he be this year's Roloson? Maybe. Plus you have Reimer as your future and he'll learn from Nabby. Ott would be nice too, just don't know what Dallas wants for him.
- Gambi99

Nabby = J S Giguere part deux

Bad move.

Carter is a bad move , wouldnt want him on my Sabres team either just to be clear.

Dont you think there is a reason why the Flyers had enough of him and now even the lowly Jackets want him gone yesterday?

To be honest , i hope Toronto does overpay for Carter but I still think Burke is smarter than the trades or names you are bringing up.They just dont make any sense for the Leafs but I hope they do

Speaking of Giguere, we could bring him back on the cheap. He has played better than either of our guys all year.

The only thing holding it up is a 1st rounder.

The only thing

I really dont think Burke is a knee jerk reaction GM.

See , I think I have seen Reimer a bit more than you have.

I dont see anything special with Reimer at all.

Once shooters learned his weakness's he has been exploited and has looked average and most times below average to be fair.

They are not getting Cam Ward from the Canes. The Canes are resigning all their "core" guys . Cam will not be moved .

Book that !

- TerryPegs

I won't argue about who seeing who more but I did see Reimer and the games that I watched he look good (esp that Ottawa game). I've been watching Marty for years here, and in the beginning (92') I've seen him go through some stretches where he was letting some weak goals in and I'll would think that maybe he wasn't going to be that good. He had a funny stance for a goalie, wasn't a true butterfly but we know how the rest of the story turned out. What I'm saying is Reimer has been good, not great yet and consistant but all young players go through it. I just saying, I wouldn't give up on a 23yr old who has shown signs of being real good.

I was trying to remember what the deal in the summer was.. I know he was close to landing Carter and Richards... I'm pretty sure it was Kulemin and a 1st for Richards but philly didn't want to trade him to the East

From what Dregs said Philli wanted Kulemin/Kadri for both, and he was hesitant but "was discussing it with his execs" when Philli went ahead with the LA/CBJ moves.

He is not worth more than 4 million per season.......... Exactly where has he been the past 9 games??

He pulls this disappearing act over and over again. He is streaky. You do not pay streaky players 5 million bucks.

He doesn't need to go the other way. And I'm not saying we're getting Bernier...but you can bet your balls he's available for some scoring help...which is something we have a lot of.
- clarkysduster

You are talking to a Sabres fan.

Toronto does not have a lot of scoring talent

Thats why I say by the deadline the Leafs will not be getting a marquee goalie to stop the bleeding between the pipes.

They just do not have theroster talent to absorb losing a player like Macarthur or Grabovski.

They will have to find a goalie in the offseason. They do it now , they will be giving up to much on a not deep enough roster as it is.

Sound logic. I agree.
We need to fill the gap with a decent vet and have Reimer playing a set, scheduled amount of games. No more of this win and you play, lose and you sit bullpoop. Sweet, dying (frank), I hate Ron Wilson....

I'd rather Richards though. Less scoring but more physical and better defensively. The Neutral zone wouldn't be a safe place to cut across with Richards and Phaneuf on the ice.

If Burke wasn't such a self-righteous Richard, he'd send an offer sheet out for Schiener or Lindback....(can't you tell im fed-up with management? )

What would be hilarious is if Burke shot an offer sheet to Carey Price for more than Montreal would like to pay (7-8 million) best case scenario, we get a slightly overpaid, young top 5 goalie and worst case scenario, we (frank) with Montreal's cap and intensify the rivalry.

- clarkysduster

If there was no collusion among the GM's this kind of stuff would happen a lot more often.

If Bogosian, Doughty, Schenn and Stamkos didn't prove to everyone that the GM's are guilty of collusion, I don't know what will.
