the weak goals by bryzgalov deflated the team and kept them from scoring

- 2Real

He played well enough to win, several really tough saves, including a penalty shot, but he was outplayed by a nobody.

The spin doctors will find a way to rationalize it.

there's no rationalizing this game. bryz was very good overall. wish he had the 2nd one back, but it's irrelevant when they had zero sustained pressure, lost most of the draws, got outworked and outchecked all over the ice by a team with absolutely nothing to play for and the backup goalie made 4 or 5 very good stops when he had to. this was a game that looked like they had no interest in playing.

Yea... their season is now over.

Really? Is that the impression you got from my statement, or you just having fun spinning my comments? A must win does not always come down to playoff-clinchers. Sometimes it has to do with mental victories. Playing a soft opponent after an emotional win 2 days ago. This is a game that the Flyers could have built off of. Instead, they're 1-1 and will have to start again on Saturday. But please, continue your fun games....

I've been annoyed with Bryz as everyone has lately, but the Flyers didn't generate nearly as good of looks on Dubnyk as Edmonton did on Bryz.

I will say that on the positive, Bryz was better than he was against Winnipeg and Pitt. He made some nice saves. He'd probably like tohave that second one back but you can't put it all on him when Read turns it over right in the sweet spot high slot. Also I like the snarl the D men seemed to play with, especially in the third. Grossman and Kubina are solid additions.

None, but I'm looking forward to watching the Angels and Rangers battle it out in the AL West.

I called the backup goalie effect waaaaay back on p. 4. It isn't anything to be proud of, but that poop is predictable from this team. They have had fits with backups for the last few years now.
- Lexington Flyer

It's also the underdog effect. Teams like the Oilers get up for games against teams like the Flyers.

Bryzgalov's best game in a while. Game isn't on him at all. Wish he had the second goal back, but he made several tough saves to make up for it.

I was hoping they would build off the dramatic win Tuesday.
