Why would LA make that deal? lol They would be downgrading in both positions...

I thin trading Voracek elsewhere to get the cap space and putting together something like a JvR and Draft picks type of deal to LA would make more sense. Give LA breathing room and they don't lose much and they get picks back (which they now have none in the first 3 rounds)

Brown that much better the JVR??? and back up goaltending spot... im confused here

If Richards and Carter turn out to be what was expected of them as a tandem in the NHL... it could end up worth it.

LOL I love these idiots that talk about how bad Carter is. He has more offensive ability than any other player on the Flyers; even Giroux. People want to cry about his effort level and lack of playoff-numbers; that only tells half the story. LA, though they may have overpaid, have Richards and Carter. This is how the Flyers started to build their team, and didn't have the patience to stay with them in efforts to rebuild. LA is getting both players in their prime, and I'd be willing to bet a Cup is in their very near future (3-5 years).

More offensive talent than Giroux?

You must be a family member of Carters.

I couldn't stand either of them towards the end of their time here in Philly. I wanted them both gone. However, a change of scenery can do a lot for some guys and the fact that those two planned to play their careers together, got traded to different teams and are now back together could be one hell of a motivator for those two to take things more seriously.

It could be a tremendous move for LA, or it could what it was in Philly.

Carter wasnt bad but the playoff numbers is a problem sure he could turn it around but i saw nothing like JVR did last year in Carters game at any time in any playoff game thats a fact.. Not saying LA is gonna suck... but they gotta go through DET and VAN for years now im not sure there that good at this point

I bet you they would have been closer to a cup if they held onto Schenn, Simmonds, Johnson, a first and Second.... and spent the cap space elsewhere....

I don't know if Richie has a leg injury or not, but he does look a step slower this year. If he hasn't done so already, he may want to think about changing his offseason regime.

You kidding me. If i had to make a TDL move with no cap implications, and you offered Carter or Jagr; I'm taking Carter every day of the week. As well would anyone else that isn't still butt-hurt by Carter and Richards. It's like people were jealous of their lifestyles or something. They both brought tons of success and a near-Cup at a young age. I don't see why people look back on these 2 people with such spite and hatred. I think they may have banged some of your guys' girlfriends. It's the only thing that makes sense.....
