I don't get the hype around Carter. He had a hell of a run in Philly, on a top end team, there is no debating that. Since then, that same team ran him out of town amidst a hail storm of accusations surrounding his personality deficiencies and he has done nothing but piss and moan since he got to Columbus. Why would anyone want to take such a huge gamble for 9+ years, on a guy that will cost an arm and a leg to acquire?

Good morning, well if the habs are going to go for Carter and not look to rebuild, then go for Nahs as well at least then we have 2 guys who can put the puck in the net. Trade plekanec, Suban kostisyn and a 2 rounder. I know before everybody says I am nuts, I am just throwing in out there.

Bernier and Carter are both worth acquiring in my eyes, but I don't think it'll take as much as you're proposing to get either of them. For some reason Howson really seems to want to unload Carter, as if it would be terrible to keep him, and with a down year in production his value won't be what Philadelphia got for him. Columbus wants goaltending and I hear they want Reimer, Gustavsson may not fly because he's a pending UFA. I however, do not want to give up Reimer, I want the Leafs to go with Reimer-Bernier if they can.

To CBJ : Kadri, Gustavsson, 1st rounder (1st to compensate for Gustavsson's pending UFA status, otherwise a 2nd or even 3rd)

To TOR : Carter, conditional 4th rounder
