They're busy. Stuff's getting out. LOTS of conversations going on.

If they got the C I heard about and Al's dman, it would be a nice trade deadline. They'd be well fortified for a serious Cup run.

- John Jaeckel

I think Crawford and Kane pulled their heads out of their bums that would happen too.

theres a reason COL wont trade stastny
good centers are hard to find and if u can have good center depth u can be a even bigger threat as a team

- wingz4life

You need to look deaper into the Av's situation. They have two quality centers in Duchene and O'Reilly, who are both RFA's and are going to get substantial raises. Stastny makes 6.6mil for two more years. They have 6 other RFA's due this summer, all looking at getting raises. They have 8 UFA's on their roster and most of them they would like to resign. This is a small market team that stays near the cap floor. Going forward it would be in their best interest to move Stastny for players under contract and prospects. They are also a team that has not yet declared themselves as sellers. The Quincy move was made for cap savings and roster positioning. He is a number one center on a lot of teams and he would help the PP without a doubt. I just hope it does not cost us Stalberg, but he is becoming a player most teams will be asking for from the roster.

IF Pleks is the center Bowman is targeting, who would the hawks give up? How about Sharp straight up?

That would be negative.

The Hawks would likely deal a couple top prospects and a high draft pick. If we're getting Plekanec, then we'll also take Travis Moen for third line detail.

I sure hope Bowman doesn't want 4 more years and $20M worth of Pleks.

If StanBow has to trade Sharp in order to acquire this big time Center, what does that do to the morale in the locker room? Sharpie has been a mentor for some of those young guys.

If the deal includes Hammer so as to get the money right for next year, I'm all for it.

Above or below 4.5 as an indication? Below would be preferred unless you're sending some considerable salary back or they are UFA at year's end.

That would be fine; as long as one of the prospects is NHL ready, or combined with more than one high draft pick in consecutive years. Prospects include Morin, Saad, and yes Jimmy Hayes would be nice.

LMAO. I see the Hab fan is providing some wonderful entertainment for us this evening. Hayes is going nowhere...he provides the size we lack and can help NOW. I don't think Plekanec is the guy personally. Just a hunch.
