didnt expose him for being small and weak at all. By that logic, eberles lil skate tie up with jamie benn that injured his knee means he is small and weak. Doesnt matter how big ya are, if you suffer an injury to a joint, the smallest bump the wrong way can re-injure it.

yes but the hit was something that players give MANY times each game. If his shoulder cant take a legal and not even that hard of a hit, then i am rightfully concerned. the good news is that Nuge is very young and is still developing so he should definately be able to grow out of this.

Reminds me of Marty Reasoner.

How dare you talk about Marty that way!

Don't know that Gagner gets 60 pts, realistically 50-55 would satisfy me. Do not want to trade Jones, him and Eager have become favorites of mine for being bottom 6 players that always bring the energy. Sure others can be plugged in there but why fix what ain't broke. On another quick note I'm against Hemsky and Nuge playing on the same line. Two very talented playmakers on the ice at the same time, lots of pretty passes, less scoring.

Thanks! I did omit the goalies on purpose. I hope Crappybulin joins Eric Belanger on the retired line... or gets traded.

Jones to the 4th line is perfect and then we would need to fill the 3rd line with someone farily good.
Defense wise.... a top 4 guy would complete us.

- IWatchHockey

Finding a third liner shouldn't be hard. Worse case scenario you have Jones there and acquire a decent 4th liner.

and that hit was the same he took all season long till he went into the boards funny. The run in with brown in the leafs game wasnt a shoulder to shoulder check but more of nuge kind of having his head down and running into him and catching the clavicular area on browns shoulder. no matter how big ya are, it only takes about 10-15 pounds of pressure to break a collar bone so obviously he wasnt fully healed and stable in that joint and came back a lil early. I would be more worried about him if he had suffered a concussion, ala sidney crosby

Really? Only 10 pounds? less than 5 kilograms of pressure? What about when teenagers fall over themselves all the time? collar bones would be breaking all the time. I would have 'broken' mine over 20 times. I find this hard to believe.

Why does everyone keep forgetting about Fedun, he was our best dman in camp. I wouldnt be surprised if his recovery continues like it has that he makes the squad next season

I can't see Hemsky accepting a anything less than 3 yrs for a contract. He's agent will say I can get you more on Jul 1st. Of course that's assuming one believes he has talent.

Fedun is unproven and you don't comeback from injuries like that too easily.

He wasn't our best d-man and being good in camp means very little more often than not.

I'll be shocked if he makes this team out of camp even as a #7.

yes look it up, you find it hard to believe but with an education i find it quite easy to believe seeing as i have played with a collar bone several times in an anatomy lab. It is actually quite a common injury among people who put there hands out to break a fall.

respect with Fedun he was looking good for a bad team.it's one thing to recover from an injury and be able to skate and another thing to compete at the highest level in the world when he hasn't proven it before. I hope he does well and I am not righting him off but it's a longshot and I am not banking on him. At this point he is not an NHL player. It will make a wonderful story if he pans out.

I guess our ace in the pocket is his girlfriend who is from here. With that being said 3 years at reasonable money isn't the end of the world. 3 years at 5+ mil with a NMC is.

He has 5 goals this year on pace for 7. A career high of only 23 goals, a minus player, doesn't shoot, is injury proned over his whole career and is a wussy, why do you think he is such a highly sought after player especially at his salary? If traded he will only be traded for picks or maybe a mid level prospect, nothing like you are expecting.

Great blog Rich! Hope you get better soon

Sign Hemmer for 2 yrs at nearly $5 million/year and trade Omark.
Also trade Peckham and possibly Jones. I love Ryan Jones and he will always be the wildcard(you know, the guy that does great things at random times) but if we get a good return we could let him go. Eager fills alot of what Jones brings...except the wildcard part.. and penalty killing too...
argh...its hard to say what to do with Jones...

You keep him. we (frank)ed this up already with Glenncross

If you actually watched Hemsky you'd see that all his injuries have come from getting run into the boards (sometimes from behind) by guys like Boogaard and Michael Handzus. A wuss wouldn't dare go into the corners with those guys.

Potential for next years lines:

Hall Nuge Hemsky
Pajaarvi Gagner Eberle
Smyth Horcoff ____(Jones? or ?)
____ Lander Eager

13th forward Hordichuk

Petry Whitney
Gilbert Smid
____(Sutton or??) Teubert? or ???

Sutton? (7th D man)

So as you can see EDM is about 2-3 players away from being a complete team.
We can sign another 4th liner. thats easy. We could also promote from the farm for that 4th liner. We can also play Hordichuk in there.

D wise, its a bit different. Will Klefbom come over to North America and play in EDM next year? If not then we need to draft a world class D man.

Then the last issue is who do we want in Ryan Jones spot if Jones is traded.... right now im not sure...

I really wanted RNH to win the Calder as mentioned in the last blog...if he is healthy and able of course... I am concerned about his injury though... Ten pounds does not dictate he won't fall awkward again and reinjure...typically collar bones are stronger after injury and rarely reinjure ever in the old break location... I just want him playing and healthy...even though gags took his spot and done well I am sure rnh wants his spot back... And it's really only an off game or two until we macblender again and put the kids together...as proven eberle can play with anyone and make them pts...
