Thats true but i was assuming they would send Josefson down but if not then I like that line better haha
- K-dizzle

Don't see a need.

He's played well, he is playing well with his time. They moved him up to the third line when they were playing with the lead as they sat Sykie and moved up Zubrus.

He is becoming very reliable and great two-way, him and Palmieri are doing well defensively on that fourth line, and they haven't been costing us much at all.

Carter-Josefson-Bernier.

Then we will have, Carter, JJ, Poni, Zubrus, Zajac, Elias, Kovy, Henrique, and Parise all killing penalties.

I want Boulton out there to finish the regular season so we Clarkie doesn't always have to drop the gloves. But yeah, come playoff time... Boulton is useless. I'd prefer Carter Or Palm

Palmieri-Josefson-Bernier

Sub Carter in for whoever you need to to keep them fresh. I would trust that line just as much as I would trust the other lines defensively. Hopefully Palms starts fighting so Boulton and Cam are replaceable.

Notes:

1. Visnovsky by far the better deal. He has a cap hit of 5+M next year but they'd only be paying him 3M. Zidlicky doesn't add anything we don't already have. Visnovsky however is a bonafide PP quarterback. Why fork over 4M and what do we give up for him? I'm not ready to part with anyone other than the difficult to part with guys. Our only guy I'd trade is Tallinder.

2. Hemsky? Come on. A 2nd round pick tops. And we'd have the Rolston situation from last year all over again. I'm not saying no, but I wouldn't hurry to get that one done. (Jersey still has to fork over a first round pick for "circumventing the cap" so they should sack this year's first rounder for it rather than next year or having it forced on them the fourth year if it potentially goes really bad)

3. I posted a paradox once on a blog where people seem to believe that the outcome of the games that are played would have only been changed had a goal not gone in.
Example: If the Devils hadn't scored those weak goals, it would have been 3-1 Leafs.
This is an illegitimate argument, because every goal, play, shift, affects the outcome of the game in a very profound way (think butterfly effect vs fate).
Reality: So in the case someone DOESN'T score the 2-0 goal, maybe Jersey would have won the game 1-0 in the end. Maybe the 2-0 goal is what shifted the team psychology on Toronto to start playing some hockey. Maybe if Jersey hadn't score the five-hole goal, their players would have come out even harder next shift and scored a Kovy top shelf one that was impossible to save.

4. The thing that Leafs fans saw was "bad goals", the thing that Devils fans (once again) saw was "blown 2 goal lead" and we've had more than a half dozen of these this season.

We need to deal for dressing room guys that keep their team jacked up, maybe.

but our defense

volchenkov

but other then him they are all depth, greene is decent but nothing spectacular, and larsson is going to get much better but right now (this year) he has work to do

- dmarsden2988

Our defense has always been questionable but i doubt Lou is willing to deal anything valuable like a 1st or 2nd away for another D man. The D we have now isn't the best but isn't the worst. As long as Pete doesn't run the legs off of Marty come playoff time I feel we can make a good run.

I think our situation at the deadline is much like the Rangers. Both of our teams are a tight knit group, and they battle for eachother night in and night out. It's risky to mess with that chemistry and bring in a new face... ala Hemsky.

You can get every game streaming on your computer. Just ask on here or F&I, there's websites that stream the games, albeit illegally, but you can still watch.

Considering value, and the fact that the Devils won't trade their first, as I said above, maybe Palmieri+2nd+4th would secure Franson.

Palmieri seems like a player Burke would like.

- _Zippy_

Yeah I think that could probably get it done and I think Burke would probably target a prospect like that too. I wasn't suggesting that the Devils should go out and put their 1st pick on the block either. I was merely just responding to the fact that if the 1st round pick was the only way we could get Franson, I'd do it... Guy is 6'5", 24 years old, has plenty of potential, and is proven enough that it wouldn't turn into a total bust.

The rest either NO, won't be traded, or cost too much. Bishop is a UFA, I believe, maybe an RFA, but they have Elliot and Halak, so no.

Ott, I do and don't want him, he seems like he could be another Claude Lemieux as that pest. An Ott-Zubrus-Clarkson line would be pretty fun to watch. Just don't want it to mess up team chemistry.

Hemsky is a huge wussy, and over-rated (unless completely healthy so 10% of the time). We are trying to make a long-run, why would you trade for a guy that will most likely get injured or disappear in the playoffs. We need to add size not little blond girls. Todd, I think the line combo of hemsky, sykora, elias will get run over come playoffs.

Well, exactly, STL has two established goalies in Halak and Elliot. Therefore Bishop doesn't really have a shot to crack the lineup. He would be an awesome goalie prospect to have.

This is funny, with the financial situation that we are in some of you a dreaming of superstars coming over. The only move we make is picking up a Derek Mackenzie or something like that. We need a cheap center. Zajac is likely out 4 the season.

Weiss isn't a star. 3.1 million cap hit.

The financial situation has nothing to do with our cap. We can spend up to it, it's just that VNDBK has this 80 million dollar debt he can't pay off, but can pay the interest, and Chambers wants out of his 47 percent share.
