We have always been good at drafting centers in the first round.. who can forget about Jiri Novotny and Marek Zagrapan that we recently drafted to be top line centers.. they are tearing it up.

Don't forget about Erik Rasmussen being taken 7th overall.

Oh I know what it says.

When it states after that Miller would be out with his wife, it confuses the reader.

And you're correct with

LA has Quick
Ana has Hiller
SJ has Niemi

They're all set at the goaltending position. All are younger, cheaper, and better options than a guy who will be 32 at the start of next year.

- dadeadhead

throw in the fact that SJ has Griess at 600k and LA has Bernier at 1.25 mil.. i don't see the need to have miller

It's been a while since the Seals had an upper echelon goalie. It's just as plausable that we trade Miller to the Seals so that he's closer to Hollywood. It makes sense if you don't think about it.

That was a terrible draft year.

Possibly one of the worst in history.

He's a guy thats a tad older than one would want to take a chance at being a starter but I think if he ever gets a chance, he'll be a good one.

Yep

And 8th round pick Tomas Kaberle is the 2nd highest scoring player to come out of that draft.

Chara goes to the HOF, but that is about it. It was a weak draft overall.

So how did the team look last night??

I realize that our top line was clicking on all cylinders.

How did the guys not on the score sheet play?? Stafford, Leino, Ennis, Gaustad, Kaleta??

What happened when Regehr got hurt??

Didn't Wolski and Stempniak also have like 30+ goals for Phx one year?

He shouldn't IMO.

He was in the league 9 years before he became the dominate player he is today.

Thats not a HOF career IMO.

It's just a great 6yr stretch.

looks like buffalo picked two players that made it in the nhl and only one that played more than 50 games with them.... solid

Chara and Briere are really the only names that I would consider as being 'good players'.

Not true - he was a rookie in 98-99 and an All-Star by 2003.

Looking at past drafts can be depressing . specially when you look at all the star players picked after the sabres picked a no-show
