Scrivens up...Gus Out...Reimer down...next...
- bazookajo1

I think Reimer's got what it takes to be a very good backup. His mental game is normally very strong.

I'm willing to give him a pass this year due to a) sophomore season and b) concussion.

But can't be giving them both a pass just cause they are inexperienced. Gus has had many chances to prove he can be a #1 and has come up short every time. Last night was the nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned.

Makes sense, Lupul and Carter had chemistry before, add that Kessel and Lupul just kinda fit, there is a strong possibilty. If we get get Carter it will mean Grabo is most likely not re-signed. Colborne, Bozak, Carter, Steckel, Lombardi, and Connolly will all be fighting for spots. Bozak and Carter would fight for first line roll, with the other taking second. Colborne and Connolly will fight for third line unless one gets moved to the wing. Steckel is the 4th line centre unless we get a better faceoff grinder.

Moves like this might mean that Grabo and Kulemin have garnered some interest around the league. Mac, Lombardi and Connolly could possibly be moved out, but most likely after the season. You need to empty spots for Kadri, Colborne and Frattin to play. Some of the other kids may excel this summer and fight for spots on next year's team.

Youth brings it's own problems, talent enough to play in the league, but with mistakes. Affordable entry level which can explode with a couple good season. You need roster spots to play these young players in their proper roles, and that sometimes means getting rid of proven talent. (in our case lackluster performers)

In section 29, there is a second definition of the word spouse that applies to Part III of the Family Law Act which deals with support obligations. Section 29 states that for the purposes of Part III, a spouse is as defined above, but also includes either of a man or woman who have "cohabited for a period of not less than three years (meaning for at least three years) or who are in a relationship of some permanence

Gus has a way of making huge saves when it dosnt matter all to much, a few key saves when it does matter and LET IN SOFT goals when it really matters.
- noename09

well, to give him some credit, that breakaway save on Kovalchuk is the only reason they got a point, and there were several others. Kovi scores there and that one's over. Just too bad he ruined it by scoring on himself in OT...

I'm at 11 years

but hell now we're even wearing matching "bands" but still not legal!

learned something when we bought our house in November though - under property law, she's not considered a spouse... That was surprising to me, and luckily lawyer caught it or our sale agreement would have been incorrect

- Big_Lightnin

really? i find that surprising actually.

honestly.. whats the benefits of marrigae? tax kick backs?

WHEN we make the playoffs in April, the first thing I want to see the Leafs do is call up Frattin. You can tell he has what it takes to be a playoff type guy. He battles hard, gets into the corners and fights for the puck. If he gets called up, my guess is he has a break out year like Marchand (just wont see as many rounds lol)

I would happily replace Lombardi-Connolly-Crab with Kadri-Colborne-Frattin right now

The thing about goaltending is — and nobody did this better than Grant Fuhr — timing is everything. The score doesn’t matter as much as the win does. Fuhr had this way of letting in bad goals and making the saves when the game was on the line with the great Edmonton Oilers teams
- faceto27

Fuhr abused himself for years. He was a walking (skating) pharmacy, which made him not realize the pain he was in. Grant is held together with so many pins and crap now-a-days, I wonder how he'll move as a senior.

Reimer sent down is not a punishment but he needs to see the puck night after night and get his mojo back...hes too young to be caught in the middle of the crap starting to brew...

Frattin will be called up as soon as they are allowed to expand the roster, same holds for Colborne and Kadri if they're still here.

I'm pretty sure he can't be sent down without clearing waivers.. Played too many games.

nope - you can file taxes together after 2 years, and that's same as marriage.

property law thing is reason enough to do it. And it would shut my sister up

got about another $30k to spend on the house though before any talk of that, so I'd say I've bought another year at least

How many dependable goalies are available right now? Nabokov? He's 36 and UFA at season end.. Low cap hit and wont be cheap.. I don't know. I'd take Mason all day.
- grim1911

I'd take Mason just because he shouldn't cost much to get; Columbus would probably like his salary off the books. We could give him a handful of games and if he doesn't work out, just waive him. No harm done.

At 2.9m for another year he is worth the risk.. I still think Carter + Mason would fill two of our needs.

Seriously???

Schenn = 3rd pairing defensemen

Reimer = backup goalie

Kadri = Severe attitude problem

1st = Who the frank knows

Think again

- faceto27

Where does everyone gets this "attitude problem" stamp for Kadri?

I honestly think its only that ONE time he said something that revealed that he was frustrated with being sent down and that was his draft year. Every time since then he's been completely professional about it...but everyone stares at him just waiting for him to flinch again so they can say "SEE LOOK, he's got an attitude problem"

I'd love to see videos or links to articles of him having an attitude problem.

we've been noticing the off handed comments from our mothers..

the gf and i just looked at each other and she said "our time is running out" wo which I replied "yup"

maybe i should freak her out and take her shopping and get her opinion on rings?however. that could seriously backfire on me
