After careful consideration, I would have to say, "Who cares?". Really, does it matter?
- GoneFullRetard

LOL what does any of this really matter? Does talking about a bunch of players and trades that won't happen matter?

Schneider won't be dealt until the off season.

A. Schneider is unproven in a starting roll.
B. Schneider is not the only option out there.
C. Can the Canucks afford to resign Schneider for what Schneider will ask for?
D. Schneider wants to be a #1 that's not possible while Luongo is there
E. Lupul is on a PPG pace.
F. Canucks only have $8.5M in 2012-2013 cap and 17 rosters players signed.

The bottom line that Schneider is unproven and has had the benefit of playing behind a team that scores a lot. Schneider is far from a guarantee, but at the same time might be worth the risk... Just not a that price!

- As_I_See_It

I wasnt serious about Schneider....atleast not for Lupul.

We need to keep Lupul. Not ifs ands or buts. Only an "unless" we get Getzlaf back. Then the "unless" becomes an "Ok"

Debate time! Who has the better schedule. Jets or Leafs? Who should make the playoffs?

Winnipeg:
TBL, STL, EDM, FLA, BUF, @Van, @Cgy, DAL, WAS, CAR, @Pit, @Was, @Nsh, OTT, NYR, @Car, @Tbl, @Fla, @Nyi, TBL

Toronto:
SJ, WAS, FLA, @Chi, @Mon, BOS, @Pit, PHI, @Was, @Fla, @Tbl, @Ott, @Bos, NYI, @Njd, NYR, CAR, PHI, BUF, @Buf, TBL, @Mon

Leafs have been spotted a 2 regulation loss handicap by the Jets, 2 points by the Caps and 5-7 points by everyone else.

I don't understand what's so wrong about trying to go for Stastny. By overpaying for him we could land Calvin Pickard, a solid goalie prospect who is a couple years from a starter role.

Something like this would A) be accepted by CapGeek, B) give Colorado a solid second line center who is cheaper than Stastny, C) land Toronto a 1B Center who can make plays and finish them too

To Toronto: Paul Stastny, Calvin Pickard

To Colorado: Aulie, Grabo, Lombardi, Komi, Frattin, 2012 2nd and 2012 4th.

Terms: If Toronto makes it past the 1st round in the 2012 playoffs the said 2012 2nd and 4th will be turned into Toronto's 2012 1st round pick. A conditional 2nd round pick in 2013 is given to Colorado if Grabovski does not re-sign with Colorado.

Toronto gets rid of Lombardi and Komi's contract which Colorado can afford. Colorado recieves a solid 2nd pairing tower in Aulie, a two way depth forward with offensive upside in Frattin, a 2A Center who will come at a cheaper price than Stastny in Grabovski. The picks make things more compact and the terms are more than fair.

Colorado needs to get what they can for Stastny before its too late. Paying a 2nd line center almost 7 million dollars is not something upper management must enjoy swallowing.

Makes sense a Goalie playing on one the best teams in the league will look very good. On the leafs, maybe marginally good, but the stats will suffer for sure.

I like how you said we'd overpay for Stastny, and then gave them Lombardi AND Komisarek.

Of course itll be accepted by capgeek... it shows that Colorado would have $70m available for the deadline lol Grabovski is also UFA.. So they get Aulie, Frattin $8m+ in unwanted salary and two picks for their top forward and top goalie prospect?? Where do they sign?!

Oh I agree....schneider is not worth Lupul.
However, he is better than the tow goalies we have.
I'd take Schneider and Bernier over Reimer/Gus.

Absolutely.

I defintiely think Bernier would be the cheaper of the two, but Schneider appears to have more upside.

I have to believe that Schneider's #'s would undergo a bit of a "correction" when he is no longer playing behind the #1 PP (22.1%), the #6 PK (86.2%) and one of the most potent offenses in the league and argueably the weakest division in the league, the Northwest.
