This team completely sucks. I absolutely hate them. We can't even beat the Winnipeg Jets!? In four tries... are you kidding me. Here are the problems:
1. Bryz and Bob are jokes. I think trading for a third time for Sean Burke (or is the fourth time now) will solve their problems. I mean any veteran that a team is willing to throw away could do better then these losers.
2. Kubina and Grossman... These guy are not the answer. Did you see them on that Ladd goal. Blech, trade em back.
3. We need to trade for a checking forward, Rick Nash, a back up goalie, a #1 defenseman, a younger Kimmo Timonen, sign Suter now, pry Weber away from Nashville for Couterier, Schenn, Read, Bob, 3 firsts, JVR, and Giroux if they ask. While we are at it let's change the whole top 6 because Hall, Stoll, Adams, Carter (who we should have never traded; pure sniper) are all available.
4. Speaking of JVR, that guy is a nobody. He has accomplished nothing for a #2 overall pick. Do you guys see him play!?!? Forget trading him for L. Schenn or Nash, I'd trade him for a bag of pucks. Stiff!
5. Did you hear what Jagr and couple of the other guys said?? They said we can score at will so it doesn't matter how many get scored on us. He just called out the whole D and the goalies. And the (frank)er is right. They flat out blow and are causing this team to lose.
I hate this team. We will never win again. Lets just blow it up, fire the coach and the gm and start again. (frank)ing losers.

I agree with the adjustment that need to be made on the PK. An 82 schedule is long, especially for the rookies we're expecting so much from. Hopefully Homer isn't done shopping because Paul Gaustad or a Jarred Stoll type could seriously be needed on this team.

JvR has 2 assist in 2 games since his return. With the rest he's had away from the game, he clearly has jump. Good for him. Hopefully he can still reach 20.

Hopefully Jagr gets those 6 goals you just spoke of Bill. He may be 40 but he has what it takes to reach 20.

When you forget to talk about the newest Flyer in his first game, that's when you know he's done a good job. I didn't notice Kubina a lot last night and when I did, he was doing exactly what he was suppose to be doing. He played well.

Speaking for myself, I had zero issue with Bryz until the 4th goal. If he saves that 4th goal, we're not talking about him in the negative sense today.

JVR did look real good last night. And I agree, it would be a waste to trade him now. But before I say that he is going to be JVR from Boston, I have to see him do it for more then a 1 to 2 game strech, which is his knock to begin with. He doesnt need to score every game, but I need to see 2 to 3 plays a game where he drives the net and creates a scoring chance to be conviced he is a legit star power forward.

He is trying to 'out stupid' Mr.Stupid himself (Angelo Cataldi). And competing with Monkey Boy (Gargano) for the WIP Moron of the Year title that Cataldi has held for going on 20 years.

Okay, so what is he classified to you as if he doesn't do any of this? These players are what they are no matter what anyone thinks. At the same time they're very young and are a work in progress.

Barkan just made the comment that Bryz thought the fans were cheering him. Seriously? I think Bryz's comment would fall under sarcasm.

I wish I had his email addy. I'd ask him if he's really as stupid as he sounds.

I am not listening to WIP today (nor did I yesterday). I'm just tired of the stupidity. There's more than my maximum daily allowance on HB.

You do understand that he's 22 years old, and that his developmental process was not the most arduous, right?

He played New Jersey high school hockey and US developmental team, then went to UNH, rather than major junior. He never really had to work that hard to be a dominant player at any level prior to the NHL. He's got a steeper learning curve than a Giroux or Schenn.

Also, bigger players usually take longer to develop. The kid has a huge talent level. hen he finds consistency, he could be another John LeClair.

He had that abdominal pull too which really impedes your ability to do anything. He would have been better off breaking a limb than dealing with that.

You know, I was trying to remember if there was something else. It was niggling in the back of my damaged noggin. But yes, that would definitely make a difference if that has healed.

Well he is not a Star yet, which is what I was getting too. Is he a power Forward... Yea, he is finally showing signs of using his body. Up until half way through last year... "a work in progress" is exactly what I would call him.

But you know what. I really dont like to label players... Just like Jagr. Some people would call him a sniper, or a goal scorer... He sees himself more like a play maker... What is for sure is Jagr was a Super Star player, no matter what style people thinks he played.

Sounds good. Hopefully Crims will finally give me Grossman and I'll have the actual Flyers roster. I gave up Pronger to get Kubina. I know it's crazy but I want the guys who are actually playing right now (no disrespect to the captain).

While JVR made a nice play on the tying goal (and what can you say about Simmonds? He is the man), the whole sequence was the sort of desperation play which fails 9 times out of 10. Kimmo took too long to attempt a breakout. Read and JVR twirled around their blue line like a pair of ice-dancers, making passes and exchanging positions while they looked for an opening. Then the whole play is made because Roo takes a look at Little, and sneakily gets their skates entangled so that Little falls like a house of cards. This is what gives JVR the opening, and wven then he lost it behind him but pulls it back to his stick. In the ensuing panic, they forget to cover Simmonds.

Jets played horrible D all game long. Flyers had tons of ice to skate in. Like the determination, but I don't think I have seen a turning point yet in the fundamental problems of the team.

EDit: JVR and Roo twirl around, not JVR and Read...

What you stated is still issues and problems. The Flyers can win, I personally think they team was better off without Carter and Richards. Of course you can argue whether it is better to have those two big contracts vs Pronger and Bryz, but looking at last night's game, a goalie. 15th game this season, Bryz let in 4 or more goals. Bryz need to steal the show and prove why Flyers dealt Richards and Carter to make room for him.

I dont disagree. But the key word is Could. I hope he does. I see signs that he could. I just want to see the results more consistantly... Thats all.

yep. In a 7 game series having Kubina and Grossman wearing down the opposing teams forwards will only help.

Holmger added some quality guys with Grossman and Kubina.

Really good pair of acquisitions for this version of the flyers, between the two of them they can eat up Pronger's lost minutes and the trickle down effect should increase the effectiveness of guys like Meszaros and Coburn who always play better in limited action than when seeing a ton of ice.

Also, Claude Giroux had TEN shots last night. That's ridiculous - I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned in the blog, Meltzer.

Love the way this group is put together, If the Sens don't make the dance I'll be rooting for the Black and Orange.
