Ok Flyers faithful... I have an issue I need an opinion on.

I have been hanging out with this girl and things are getting pretty serious and she just dropped a bomb on me... she's a RANGERS FAN.

WHAT DO I DO? Run for the hills?

- Flyers2821

Is she legit (from NY area or Jersey north of Trenton)? Be happy she's a fan of the game.

During the silly season it's best to stick with the guys with verified accounts (the blue checkmark).

Because Nash is out there, somewhere, he's out there, and Iginla is too old, not too give up JVR, if I give up a JVR & Read as well, it's not for a player that old, Nash is 27

What is this talk about Tyler Myers being on the trading block? Why would Buffalo even consider trading him? He is locked up extremely long term at only 5.5 mill... if he is on the block the Flyers better throw the kitchen sink at him.

No one is going to get two of JvR, Schenn, Couturier, Read. It's just not going to happen. Even if its for Nash. Not happening.

No I know, JVR, Bob, & then thats the stickler, I do not do Read, Couturier or Schenn as well, so it won't happen, if they would take a different 3rd piece, hell Vermette isn't Nash, but he was given away today

You do realize it is impossible financially for the flyers to get Nash right?

Once the Flyers got Kubina, the Nash thing was completely over.

No, Nash's salary is cut to prorate for the season remainder, JVR Bob & maybe a Carle sign & trade, they would have to move another piece, but anythings still possible.

Nash's is prorated but so are the contracts being traded for him... they have like 900k left in cap space... they would have to send almost 9 million in cap space over in a trade for Nash to be under the cap after replacing the traded players as well as bringing in Nash.

It is impossible. They would have to gut their team.

JvR and Carle combined only make a little over 5 mill combined... your still almost 3 mill short to reach Nash's contract...

So Kubinas one prorated salary killed that, but before hand they were close?

I don't think that's the only move they would have to make, they would have to move something else, but before Kubinas salary it was possible?

Fuc&, why were they even talking if it was an impossibility??

It was possible prior to Kubina, it's not possible now. That $3 million prorated = $3 million of Nash's 7.8 mill pro-rated.

So yes, once the Kubina deal happened, it put the Flyers out of the running for Nash... unless they are willing to move 7.8 mill worth of full season contracts to match Nash's full season contract (because they are all prorated)
