but i think connolly is overpaid too.

If he want's $5.5....he can get it like Connolly did....as a UFA.

- Pen15

Connolly was a 2 year deal correct? Yeehaw! 1 more year of over payment!

Chris Stewert could be a good fit. Send them Mac and a pick. Or Kulemin straight up? Hate to lose Kule but Stewart won't come cheap even though hes had a terrible year.

True. What an error in judgement Lou makes if NJ doesn't re sign him...I suspect someone will trade for his rights but for a far cry from what he could have got.

Maybe Stewert is another Mark Bell?

I wouldn't give up that much for him.

For that sort of money why don't we trade for Stastny?

This is an interesting deal accepted by CapGeek:

To TOR: Stastny, Pickard

To COL: Grabo, Aulie, Komi, Lombo, Frattin 2012 2nd, 2012 4th

If accepted we would still have over 2 million in cap space.

Lupul-Stastny-Kessel? Now that's a first line.

That line would be a (frank)ing wrecking crew!!!!

Good part is, I don't think we'd have to give up that much for any of those guys ..... maybe ott.

Kulemin could be another Mark Bell. If Grabovski goes than Kulemin would be the only Russian. Ship them both lol.

Our third line could easily be:

Crabb-Boyce-Kulemin

Hard Working, Huge energy line. All are responsible defensively and have some creativity on offense. Couldnt we at least try it?

As great of a line it would be, I still think it's one dimensional.

I'd replace Crabb with Frattin.

More physical....and offensively better overall.

How is trading Kulie for Stewart a good move? Youre moving sideways there. I dont think people really get how good Kulemin really is and can be. Yes hes had a down year, its been a really tough year hockey aside. When he gets his head straight he will be a regular 25-30 goals but anyone who watches his game knows hes way more than that

When D pinches on his shifts and gets caught, whos the first guy backing them up, even actually plays solid d. When a stick breaks whos the first to hand his over. Whos the one whos given a guy like grabovski the room hes had over last 2 seasons. His hockey IQ is off the charts, and is the smartest player, between the ears, in Toronto since Alex Mogilny.

Hes had some bad puck luck this season, but if you watch him play he does so much away from the puck.. Im only talking about the all around game rather than offence because Stewart will have similar numbers on good years for the both of them, but moving Kulemin for anyone other than a player that significantly upgrades the talent of this team is a bad move.

Can you tell im a fan? haha

If Grabovski gets anything over 5 million that's ludacris. If he does, package him Schenn, Kadri, and maybe Aulie for Nash.
- Pilgor09

but most likely for Carter.
