It is crazy - he will make rookie mistakes at the worst time in a playoff game or 2. - StLBravesFan
I am sure..great call...we better not play him anymore. Or any rookie for that matter...they can't help..need battle tested guys like in 2010..that will do it...Oh wait, they were all 20 then...Opportunity knocks and we have guys that are ready. With all the holes in their game they must have a magic horse shoe in their pants... |

was at the game...the place was just electric in that 2nd and 3rd period....
goaltending was outstanding and the hawks just lapped the wings in the 2nd period..
easily could have potted 2 or 3 more.
defensively...quick with the sticks and hard working positionally.
man wanted to see Frolik bury that break away for both him and the team
but really Jon Scott on PK vs one of the bess PP in the league...what was up with that...and Hawk PP continues to be a downer. the entries just plain bad - bogiedoc
1) You could hear it on TV, must've been less suits at the game.
2) He's our shut down D-man, SIGN THIS MAN TO A 3MIL/YR EXTENSION! /s Honestly though, he somehow managed to not f it up. |

Currently, my favorite part of Olsen's game are the number of shots he gets to the net. Maybe he can teach Keith a thing or two in that dept. - nathanjf
Including tonight:
9 Games
9 SOG
22 Hits
11 Blocked Shots
1 Assist

FWIW, Crawford during an interview today credited being much deeper in his net with the recent improvement in his play. - Ogilthorpe2
Agreed his recent problems were because he was too far out of his net. He plays best deep in his net. |

If Sharp doesn't play any center tonight, it furthers my belief that he let Q and Co. know he doesn't want to play center.. - pri$ey
Q is on record in the past 3 weeks stating he much prefers Sharp at wing. As he is a finisher. |

How deep? That's a question for me. My oldest son is a travel goalie and is coached by a pro coach, so I hear the theories....HOW deep in your net is a wonder.
Get too deep and you lose the angles, take away less net...goal tonight? maybe. Not sure. I am guessing he was getting TOO FAR out...and the results seem to speak for themselves.
Also, if the defense plays worth a damn, then you don't have to take those challenges as much. What I do like about Crow is...
-he is handling rebounds really well now
-not losing net
-not a lot of movement, harder to beat
Oh yea, he's also beating ass. |

Nice job Bogie...Frolik should have buried his breakaway, ditto Bolland and ditto Sharp who was robbed point blank by Howard.
After we took the lead for the first time...Q has John Scott out there..the very next shift FFS.
Also, great point on the pp entries. They were poor AGAIN. But it was nice to see Keith getting some rubber into dangerous areas FOR A CHANGE. But that's what she said....rimshot |

You're right he should replace Trebek as the host!
seriously though, I'm wondering who deserves credit for the recent philosophy changes. If Kitchen was the problem before, that's on Q bringing him in and trusting him too long. That doesn't necessarily mean Q should be fired, although it is certainly one strike. It might mean however that you need to keep Q's feet to the fire similarly to Lovie over on the lake front. Keep the guy from being too buddy buddy with his friend Babich, I mean Kitchen, and you see results.
If Haviland is solely responsible for the turn around, I think you have to go in a new direction with your coaching and name him the head coach. |

Someone who is much more Hawk nerdy than I should compile a list of available right shooting D-men. I think RFA would be more Stan's style, but you never know.

Nice share Ogie. If C2 feels that way, more power to him. If it builds his confidence...all the better. If it keeps him from floating out to the Navy Pier....PHUCKING A.
He'll still get beat though...by bullets like Brassard's in Columbus and the goal tonight. But he was very, very good tonight. |

I said when Monty, Hammer and Toews return, that makes 25. This is a very important decision for Bowman, do you move your two rookies down? They are both playing better than any two you keep. - hawksbuzz
It doesn't sound like Montador will be back anytime soon and if he does come back, I'm not sure he cracks the line up. Q is not a fan of his at all. |
