Wrong. Winnik is very good in the circles. Mid 50s%. He's also strong on the puck and would be a good helper on the PK.
- kwolf68

Wrong. If you are going to call someone out on the internet about stats, at least use the internet to your advantage. Winnik is at 45%. Close...but not really at all. Also, he barely takes a draw.

The scouting report on Theo Peckham is two words long. The first word is can't. the second word is play.

Colorado is very interesting ( and encouraging). I'd love to get kyle Quincy, and any of the David Jones, jay Mcclement, Winnik bunch would be welcome too. Would prefer that the forward being acquired have more nastiness to him. but those tree are all fairly useful.

Te Canucks improved greatly by trading for the underrated Chris Higgins and laperriere.

Hope something gets done.

Jones not as interested in myself.

Ditto on Quincey. Would KILL to get him and I think he could be a great pairing with Hammer on Combo 2...moving Leddy down to third pairing where the pressure is much less.

I' pretty sure that Winnik is above 50% at the dot because he doesn't take many faceoffs..he is much like Mayers, servicable, but not somebody I would have confidence in putting at the dot at the beginning of a penalty kill, the way you could put Madden out there or even Ryan Johnson

John I enjoy your Bolggs very much and respect your opinion. What do you think of this potential trade....I think it would help both teams . Miller & Gaustad and a 3rd for Kane and Pirri ?

Fair to say he took a step back this season?

I was high on him last year.

- Al

Tough to say.

I think it's more he hasn't taken a step forward and is standing still.

It's really tough to blame him for the injury problems that we've had that have made him play a bigger role than he is ready for. The guy had to play 22+ minutes a few times this year, something that should happen. He's been playing around 20 the past 7 or 8 games.

He's had his up and downs and on a better defense I don't think you a more consistent Peckham.

According to NHL.com he's only taken 46 FOs and is at a less than impressive 45% at the dot.

Just updated blog: there is no interest in bringing Khabibulin back.
- John Jaeckel

Well he's injured now, but I never understood the talk in the first place.

Peckham would be a depth body for playoff wars. Same can be and often is said of Hal Gill. Quincey would get more substantial minutes and a shot at a PP role.

Pirri, Smith and a 2nd for Quincy, Winnik and a 4th. That would sound good to me.

I'd give them a 2nd round pick,I guess..hmmm...then again might have to outbid someone else...but i would go 2nd round pick and try and resign him to an extension or in the offseason to a nice deal,he would help out big time, and I' quite upset that the Hawks aren't targeting him

He is at 45 for his career? I am trying to find the stats, but I don't think so. he may be 45 this year, but from what I recall he was supposed to be a good faceoff guy and a very defensive minded player.

I would be very mad if the Lightning traded Nate Thompson.

For such a small sample size, I am not worried about that. Do you have his career stats? Even going back to the minors?

I watch very few Lanche games, but I seem to recall this player being a very solid faceoff guy and defensive minded player, which is EXACTLY what our team needs.

If he is TRULY a 45% guy on the dot, then I have less interest.

I think if you upped the pick to a 2nd an objective mind might consider it. Problem is it's two very young players for two middlingly older players.

The deal with Buffalo that I think makes sense is Miller and Myers for Kane and Crawford with picks, a Chicago d-man and/or d prospect involved. But I also think that is only an offseason trade.

The Hawk fans who can't see the value of Miller (bad season this year aside) and Myers need to watch more hockey outside Chicago.

Well last year he was at 36%...I'm not even going to put more research into this. Clearly he isn't a center.

I think there will be a line, although maybe not one out the door, for him.

I'm not sure a 2nd round pick by itself will be enough to get him.

There are enough other teams interested that will do a little better than that.
Apparently the Wings like him.

I stand corrected. I looked at his last two years and his last year in Phoenix...his faceoff numbers are not good.

I was wrong and I apologize for calling you out earlier.

Hey JJ!!
Read Jesse Rogers article at espn1000,and he mentions your boy Barry Smith having a positive effect on the Hawks play... just wanted to mention it because i remember you mentioning him here around a week ago! You and al i believe any chance the Hawks will ditch Kitchen and and have Smith as an assistant to Q?

There is little chance I would do the first deal, and no chance on earth anyone in Buffalo would do the second.
Kane and his issues can stay away from Buffalo. No thanks.
Also, I researched Pirri a bit.
Yes, Buffalo needs centers, but they do not need another tiny guy playing the dot. They already have both Ennis and Roy doing that now.

Myers + can potentially get Buffalo Getzlaf.
Why would they use him to get Kane?

I think it would take a couple of picks, or a pick and a prospect.

Perhaps a conditional first if you are able to resign him?

I would rather have the 2nd and 3rd in this years draft, but what you offer might be enough.
